Congratulations!!! You both just radiate happiness. That placenta issue sounds horrifying though. Wow. I'm so glad everything turned out okay in the end.

woowoo on the topic of the placenta removal- last time mine was incomplete and no one noticed so four weeks later I went in for a D&E procedure. The plus side (there is a plus side!) was that since everything was scooped out I never had a horror show of a first period post-partum (it was very normal) and also my bleeding stopped quite quickly after that point as well. Hope you get some of the same benefits after all that trouble!
I love the second photo. You look great (and so does he).
Thank you all so much! My recovery is going very well. aprilsails, you are correct, I've had very minimal bleeding for sure.
Our little guy, however, was admitted to the NICU yesterday with a pretty decent case of jaundice and mild dehydration. We are staying another night and hope to go home tomorrow. I know this is super duper common but man...first time mom and after such a long journey..I was a hot mess yesterday. Apparently our diverse blood types put him at higher risk? I had no idea, it's been interesting to learn about.
There is a special please in heaven for NICU nurses. Ours have been angels, and the Drs have been super supportive of the breastfeeding effort while undergoing treatment. Bumps in the road have been made so much easier by our amazing caregivers!

Hope it’s just a one day stay woowoo. DD was borderline for needing to go in for jaundice treatment at 5days old so it’s not uncommon! My milk came in slow (which was a side effect of my placenta problem that we didn’t know about at the time) so they don’t think she was getting enough for a day or two there.
