I need an accordion file. I use it daily to organize papers to grade and bring back and forth from school. The problem is, I find two extremes. It’s either made from paper or super cheap plastic....or 200 and made from leather. Can anyone find an accordion file folder that is in the middle? Right now I have a cardboard plastic hybrid, but it lasts a few months before it dies.

What if you got one of those standard brown cardboard ones but then carried it in something like this:

That way the paper/cardboard/pressboard wouldn’t be struggling to support the weight of the files on its own and would last longer?

Just be aware that a few of these say they are A4 size, which isn’t exactly letter-sized....it’s a little narrower and longer. The pockets may be wide enough for letter paper, but it’s worth double-checking measurements to be sure.
