My home has been neglected lately so, I am doing a deep cleaning today. I also need to clean out my car.
I semi- sorta invited a friend over for the Bruins game tonight. He doesn't get cable and was wishing he could watch the game the other night, so I told him he is free to come over tonight to watch. I hope they can wrap it up in regulation because I have a half marathon tomorrow and this chick will need her sleep!
I’m proud of myself for squeezing in the gym today.Im solo this weekend and I had to take all 3 to DD’s practice/game which little DS typically melts down during. Quick Library stop, dropped DS1 off, got in a workout at the gym for a strong 47 minutes. Face painting and games, quick stop at the store, now lunch at home. Dropping DS1 off at a friends so they can take both kids to a baseball game/sleepover, then taking the other two (sans nap) to a graduation party an hour away. I’ll probably get home at 9 pm. It’s Hs family btw and he can’t even be there.
After 16 years of drill weekends (that’s just how long we have been together....he’s been in even longer) I feel like every single drill weekend is grating at me more and more.
Now if I could stop eating the leftover desserts from the party we hosted last night.

I managed to squeeze in a quick 3.6 mile run. I’m in Boston for a work conference and am scheduled from 7am to 8pm today. I skipped lunch and got to run along the river.
Also, because no one IRL thinks this is cool, I’m going to share here. My hotel is near the Boston marathon finish line, so a friend and I went and got pictures there. I will NEVER actually run the marathon, but it’s so cool to “cross” the finish line anyway. Hahaha.
We ran a 5k this morning and it was awful. It was at an apple orchard so the ground was hilly and uneven. There were a lot of holes, rocks, sticks, etc. plus this was my first race off of an it band injury so my everything was hurting. I ended up walking a good portion of it, but it’s done and now I’m chilling on the couch with the pups and H.

Running along the river is always really cool. As is going across the finish line. They paint it upside down so when you are finishing the marathon, your picture has the finish line going the right way!
I worked a water stop last week and it starts and ends in the seaport district. I was stationed in Cambridge, but there were so many people running along the river and it was fun to watch the crew teams out there too. Enjoy Boston!
I drove to Alabama just to do a 3 mile downhill trail that I've been itching to do. It's a 10 mile climb to the top before the downhill. The heat has been getting to me this year, and I knew I wouldn't make it 10-12 miles back over the mountain going uphill most of the way. I opted to ride the road 7 miles back to the car. I don't regret it...the trail is that awesome and fun.
My Kuat hitch rack broke for the 2nd time in 6 months. The lever that releases the rack to go up and down broke. It goes up by itself, but at least it still locks going down. The LBS is taking care of me. Kuat has a lifetime warranty on their racks. I emailed Kuat to let them know in case it has become a wider problem.

It was HOT today (well, by our standards ... mid-70s.) I plodded along for 4.5 miles and then called it a day ... except for walking another two miles (round-trip) to get ice cream with DD.
