Anyone dealing with varicose veins? The back of one of my knees looks awful and I’m wondering if there’s anything that can help. Thankfully they don’t hurt anymore but I did get a rx for compression tights... I haven’t gotten them yet, and it’s about to be warm here anyway so not sure how much I’ll be able to wear them. I’m self conscious about wearing shorts but I’m guessing I won’t care once it’s 90 degrees each day.
For those who have had them with a previous pg, did they go away after birth?
I have had varicose veins for years, especially on the back of my left leg, my right leg has an ugly birthmark. I still wear shorts. I am sure they will get worse with pregnancy, but I am only 12w4d currently, so same old same old currently. I am in an area that is way too hot not to wear shorts and dresses though, so I do it anyway. Curious if others have tips though.
I had many on the back of my knees from sailing and from waitressing long before I was pregnant. I didn’t notice that they got much worse with DD, nor with this pregnancy. However, with DD I got three on the fronts of my thighs just below my bikini line. They have definitely faded over the past 4 years and I am very much hoping they don’t get worse this time.
I think I’m immune to caring about the backs of my knees since they’ve been a mess since I started university.
I didn’t have any with my first pregnancy so I have no idea if they will fade or not. But I’ve developed them this time. The back of my left knee looks horrible and I also have some high up on the thigh just below the bikini line.
I have compression socks I wear to work sometimes but they stop below the knee so I don’t think they will help much. However except for the look of them they don’t bother me much. The vulvar ones are much worse. Anytime I’ve been on my legs for a few hours they hurt and my whole crotch is sore. Same thing after sex. From what I’ve read online though I expect them to disappear pp.
They make compression stockings that are thigh highs. They were much more breathable than tights and helped with my edema that prevented me from wearing shoes some days.

I have to rock these due to a different vein issue in pregnancy. They are...not sexy, lol. But they do help.
