I'm 34+2. I started having very intense back pain about an hour ago that doesn't really subside. I've never had contractions, so I have no idea what they feel like. I don't feel like my stomach is tightening at all. And I don't have any menstrual like cramps. I do feel nauseous. Warrants a call to my OB?
Yes I'd call. I had back labor with Z and never felt the front cramping that people talking about. Only awful pain in my low back with every contraction.
Well, I'm in L&D. No contractions, baby looks great. They think I may have a kidney stone though. So fucking painful. Pain meds are barely touching it. The beauty is that I got to skip the ER since I went from my OB straight to L&D. Silver lining I guess, lol.

oh no! i had a kidney stone when i was 7 weeks along. it was bad, like you say - the pain meds barely touched it. it didn't get any better until they went in and took it out. i was on morphine every 4 hours and alternating anti-nausea meds too. i'm so sorry - hope they can get it resolved for you soon!
Well, labs came back normal. Ultrasound was inconclusive. They're now thinking it's neuromuscular, like a muscle strain or pinched nerve. Which can also be excruciating. She's been moving around a ton and I think she flipped over, so it makes sense. My sciatic pain on the right was much better this morning, then this pain on my left started. I'm staying overnight in the hospital for pain control. Earlier, fentanyl and dilaudid barely helped. I'm now on Tylenol, oxycodone and a lidocaine patch and it's helped a lot. If the pain gets worse, I'll be able to take a muscle relaxant.
Ooh I hope the back spasms let up. I’ve had a few intense bouts of muscle spasms this go around that have not been pleasant, but if it’s binding up on your nerves that is really painful.
They're sending me for an mri this morning. The pain is now radiating to my left lower abdomen, so they want to see if it's diverticulitis. Hopefully something will finally get to the bottom of the source of pain.
