Double Century is tomorrow. (oh god oh god oh god)
Barring a miracle, I think my B+ goal is actually 168 miles. (A goal is 200 miles, but that still feels like utter insane crazy talk and no matter how I do the math would require either not taking a single break more than like 10 minutes or riding all 200 miles at a speed I can only maintain on the flat. Course is not flat) They changed the course and now it's a base 200k and there are three add-on loops that get you to the 200 miles. If you're behind the cutoffs they close the loop, direct people to stay on the main course and you just skip those miles rather than getting swept at that point. I'm thinking I can definitely make all but the third loop. Of course the way they have the cutoffs set, the first loop might actually get missed because for some reason you have to average like 2 mph faster through that cutoff than you do over the whole course. Go figure. But as long as we can stick with my faster friend through that first loop I should be good, and then she can drop me and I'll toodle along with MH through the rest and should be able to make the second loop fine, and then just skip the third and make my way through the final 40 miles.
If I miss the first and last loops I'll end up with 142 miles. Which will still be A LOT OF MILES. But will be a little sad because I'm positive I can do that (barring catastrophe), so it's certainly not the goal.

I’m going to try to shake the leftover cobwebs from Texas out with a sprint tri tomorrow. Part of me thinks I’m not ready to race yet, but what the hell? It’s a sprint.
I have a local 5k with some friends from work on Sunday. I am going out late tomorrow night, so I will probably be exhausted for the race, but it should be fun.
