2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes on Thursday which sucks. I don't meet with the nutritionist/diabetes doctor until Thursday. I kinda felt like by then I'd be 31 weeks and that's kind of long so I picked up my monitor on Friday, watched youtube, and started testing. So far so good. My numbers have all been in line or even kind of low. Also--compared to some of those IVF needles this finger prick is NOTHING. Hopefully my numbers remain in line but if they do I feel pretty comfortable with doing this for 9 more weeks (assuming I can maybe treat myself once every couple weeks or so). We'll see what my doctor says tomorrow about my VBAC concerns. I have definitely felt hungry since Thursday so hopefully that subsides once my body adjusts. I can definitely eat more and keep my numbers in line, but...I don't really want more protein. I want a muffin. LOL
Otherwise...things are ok here.
3. Questions for the group? Nope.
4. Any big Father's Day plans? We're going to Sesame Place on Saturday and I am so excited!! Sunday we'll probably hit up the pool and have MD crabs for dinner (I will "splurge" and eat corn on the cobb probably. HA)

1. How far along are you this week? 29w
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have birthing class this week, our intake interview with our maternity nurse, and a hospital tour. We are busy!
We had a great long weekend and enjoyed our trip to the beach. I forget how quaint and adorable all the little towns in the Netherlands can be.
3. Questions for the group? Nope.
4. Any big Father's Day plans? We will probably spend the day at the park with a picnic. My H can play frisbee. He said he doesn’t want anything else so I’m fine with this!
icedcoffee, my numbers were low/in line so I now only have to test 2 days a week. I’ve also been told it’s ok to indulge every now and then so I had ice cream this weekend.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have an appointment with my ob today, crossing fingers everything is still good (I'm really anxious this pregnancy for some reason).
3. Questions for the group?
4. Any big Father's Day plans? My H wants to do rope drop at Disneyland, so we're going to that in the morning and then come home and relax. He wants a big fancy grill for his present, so the gift part is all taken care of too. Easy peasy.

1. How far along are you this week? 19+5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Nothing exciting. I saw my ob this morning and all was good!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Not really. DH was supposed to be traveling for work, but his trip got cancelled. I know it’s going to be a hard day for me because it’s the first one since losing my dad in December. I’ll probably just lay low or go and have lunch with my mom.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? nope. i had enough excitement the past few weeks with sickness/spotting/bleeding. the spotting is still happening, mostly brown guck, which while gross and TMI is reassuring in that it's not bright red. but, WTF, one of the major benefits of pregnancy is not dealing with your period for 9 months and here i am wearing pads everyday. not cool.
3. Questions for the group? i covered that in my underwear post, lol.
4. Any big Father's Day plans? we are going to a baseball game on saturday, then plan to hang around the house on sunday. DH wants to smoke stuff and i will make whatever he wants for dinner. nothing huge.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I posted in last week's thread about my mother wanting to come stay with us. Well. She booked flights and then informed me she was coming for TWO F'ING WEEKS (I told her initially we were fine hosting people for 2-3 nights after the first few weeks home). Her argument was that she did listen to me and book them for ~2 weeks after the due date but that I would need her help, whether I knew it or not, so she was coming. She also pointed out that the other grandparents would also want to come and she was going to be first.
Unfortunately, this conversation was over the phone and not text and I lost my cool and lit into her. The whole conversation was so condescending; she was speaking to me as if I was a 16 year old single mom who didn't know better (I'm 40 and have worked in child dev for 20 years). She also kept taking shots at my DH, which is unacceptable. My DH's jaw dropped when he heard me say "two weeks?!" on the phone. Our marriage would NOT survive a 2 week visit with her.
I basically told her she could stay with us for 2-3 nights but that was our limit and her response was "well, I guess I'll be in town and will call once I am there to see if I'm allowed to come meet my new grandson" GRRRR.
This is par for the course for her behavior; I'm not sure why I'm surprised.
In good news, my anatomy scan with MFM went great! We talked through my 3 high risk factors and he wants to see me again at 22 weeks; if all looks well, he is confident in releasing me back to my OB for the remainder of the pregnancy.
3. Questions for the group? When did you feel your baby first? I still don't feel anything I have been SOOOO gassy that I'm afraid I'm just mistaking everything for gas!
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Nah. We live out of town from family so it's a non-holiday for us (though next year we'll get to celebrate as a family!).
chocolatepie oooff I'm sorry your mom is being that way! I hope she listens to you and finds another place to stay if shes in town for 2 weeks!
As for the movement, I've felt my babies at 17 weeks (last time) and 16 weeks (this time). But if you have an anterior placenta (not sure if you know where yours is) it may take a bit longer to feel it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Baby is getting really active! I've felt her a fair amount over the last few days and I love it. Baby movement is my absolute favorite part of pregnancy!
3. Questions for the group? No
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Not really at the moment. To be fair I havent asked my husband what he wants to do, but I work in the morning that day.
chocolatepie I felt DS some time around 17 or 18 weeks. This time I have an anterior placenta and I felt the first movements at 19+6. It then took me many weeks to feel it more regularly
2. Still pregnant. Induction today! I was on the fence about just waiting a few more days but decided just to go for it today. Hoping to still go med free. Starting misoprostil shortly.
3. Nope
4. Hopefully H takes DS somewhere fun. I am not planning anything with a 1 week old.
chocolatepie My first I felt around 18 weeks, baby 2 maybe around 16 weeks, baby 3 was well over 20 weeks which I didn't expect because they always say you feel the subsequent earlier.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I was discharged from the hospital Saturday after being admitted Wednesday for a kidney stone. I was feeling better Friday night/Saturday morning, so thought it had passed. Saturday night and Sunday I was in excruciating pain again. This morning I'm feeling better again. I don't think I've passed it yet, so I'm just waiting for the pain to start back up. Seriously, the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Today is also (luckily) the official start of my maternity leave. So at least I don't have to worry about going to work right now. But it's really making it difficult to start getting anything ready for DD since all I can really do is lay in bed. And my heart breaks because I really wanted these last few weeks to spend with DS (15 months) as an only child before DD arrives, but it's so hard to do anything right now. And Saturday and Sunday he just wanted to be with me and wanted me to hold him, and I just can't right now. It's been really rough.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. Any big Father's Day plans? we'll see how I'm feeling. I'm hoping this stone passes by then. we have an appointment for DS to get his hair cut. maybe going out for lunch if I'm feeling better.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Nothing much. I was supposed to go to my midwife today but DS caught a stomach bug somewhere along our travels (we finally made it home late last night after the cancelled flight, hotel night and rebooking flights through a third country) and spent the morning vomiting so I had to cancel. Will go on Thursday instead (unless I get Ds’s bug then). Baby girl has been moving so much lately - I love it!!
3. Questions for the group? Nope.
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Nothing. It’s not Father’s Day here (it’s in November) so we do nothing.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Follow up anatomy scan tomorrow - last week they couldn’t get good images of the brain due to baby’s position, so hopefully tomorrow is better.
This is the milestone I’ve been waiting on to start telling people (and buying things, lol). Now that it’s basically here, I am REALLY anxious about telling our families. Not so much my family, but DH’s. They are nice people, but they just don’t have the same boundaries as I do. Plus, we will actually be visiting them this weekend and the idea of telling them in person is making me more stressed. Like, I don’t want anyone touching my belly. At all. And I know MIL will try.
And I’m still nervous (PGAL) and just don’t want a big fuss. Like, the idea of a baby shower really makes me uncomfortable right now. Maybe that will change, but it’s not something I want to talk about now and I know it will come up.
IDK, I’m just a very private person and I’m working very hard to keep my emotions balanced - I’m happy and cautiously optimistic about this pregnancy. Telling people makes me feel vulnerable and like it’s out of my control.
3. Questions for the group? Any advice on the whole mess above? Lol
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Driving 6 hours back from SoCal - so nope! Will probably just drop a card off for my dad.
1. How far along are you this week? 20 weeks today
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I had the pediatric cardiology appointment this morning for the fetal echo cardiogram. They couldn't see any major heart defects which is good but they did find fluid around the lungs. He already has edema and he still has his cystic hygroma so Perinatal will have to watch it over the the next several weeks.
3. Questions for the group?
none
4. Any big Father's Day plans? We may go out to my dads for a boat ride or cookout but nothing has been set yet.

1. How far along are you this week? 18w + 5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have started having a good amount of discomfort and pain in my belly and groin muscles. Seems like it's from stretching, but I sure do feel everything! Also feeling a lot more kicks, but nothing that H can feel from the outside yet - it's fun to finally feel her
3. Questions for the group? I am working on my registry. For STMs, any recommendation on brands of sleep sacks? It seems like there are a slew (Halo, Merlin, etc.) and I'm a bit lost at where to start.
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Nothing much. Both my Dad & FIL are traveling so we celebrated early. H's birthday is the day afterwards so we'll do something fun to celebrate Sunday or Monday. He isn't big into celebrating Mothers/Father's day so it will be minimal.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We move on Saturday to our new build. I do not have as much packed as I would like, but we do have a couple more days to get things done. DD has been sleeping better so I am hopeful that this week goes somewhat smoothly. We are super excited to get into our new house, but I also know it’s going to be a bit of a mess for a while between no sod, needing to paint rooms, etc.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Unpacking! My poor Dad, Stepdad and FIL have all been informed that we are out of commission this weekend. I have absolutely no bandwidth to put together gifts or make plans for any of them.

chocolatepie I’m sorry she was so difficult but I’m glad you stuck up for yourself and set some limits. It’s a start.
jade Good Luck today! I hope everything goes smoothly and baby shows up soon!
kellikans I am so sorry you are still struggling with the stones. That is rough. I hope they pass soon and you’re able to enjoy your time off and be productive.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I go for the 12w us on Thursday! Can’t wait to have a little more info and hopefully be a little less anxious. Also we will tell the kids after that...
3. Questions for the group? Would it be weird to bring the kids to the us? They are 5.5 and 3.5 and get the concept of babies growing in bellies... and have been asking for a new baby for so long. We kind of want to show them the screen and tell them what’s going on that way. The older one very much has a science/engineering brain and would totally love seeing the ultrasound especially. Plus my H will be there and that will ensure their good behavior. LOL
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Not really. He doesn’t care about it & doesn’t care about plans for Mother’s Day either, so matching levels of enthusiasm? I’ll probably make pancakes for breakfast or something. Depending on weather, maybe go for a bike ride?
humpforfree, Z has been to every appt of mine so far, mostly because I'm not getting a sitter every time. He generally just sat quietly on a chair and played on his tablet for most of them. But the last one where we found out the gender, he wanted to see "his baby" as he calls her and he loved being able to watch. I think if your kiddos will understand what's going on and enjoy it, bring them!

Thank you! L went to all of them last time, but he wasn’t even a year and a half, so he was oblivious and just sat there out of the way with a book. I didn’t know if it would be frowned upon to bring the older ones 😂

I'm jumping over from Getting Pregnant!
1. How far along are you this week?
8w3d with baby #2
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
Had our first ultrasound today. It was very reassuring to see the little bean in there and hear the heartbeat. I feel like I haven't really connected with this pregnancy yet, but now I feel a touch more connected.
3. Questions for the group?
Not yet.
4. Any big Father's Day plans?
We are going to visit my family to announce the news. We are pretty excited to see everyone in person!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I’m in survival mode for the next three weeks. The kids are home (no school/no camp), so I need to keep them entertained all day. It’s been one day and I’m already exhausted, lol. They’ll start camp in july.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. Any big Father's Day plans? Probably brunch with DH and the ILs (my dad lives abroad)

Im sure it varies by practice but they've been very understanding at mine about him coming along since he usually behaves! I drive almost an hour one way to my OB, so it's not a quick thing. Z is happy to be quiet with his tablet, but if he wasnt able to be distracted so easily I'd figure out another solution.
The tech was super sweet when Z was interested in the seeing the baby and let him come closer. She even told him the gender first and let him tell me what the baby was.
35 weeks this week and baby is still breech. Next week my doctor will discuss options- version or a c section. I’m not really a fan of either. I’m worried something will go wrong with the version and is not know until it’s too late and c section recovery scares the shit out of me. Ugh. Why won’t she just flip!!
