End of Year Teacher Gifts (sorry, sorry, sorry)

I can never remember year-to-year exactly what I did for teachers. I really should write it down. I am planning on phoning it in this year with gift cards for teachers and the bus drivers. No one seems to do much here for teacher appreciation week. We do Christmas/winter break gifts in December. 

Do you do end-of-year gifts? What do you give? 

ETA: 3 kids in elementary. planning to give 6 gifts:
--their 3 main teachers
--speech teacher (2 kids in speech)
--morning bus driver for sure--he rocks
--probably something for afternoon bus driver but driver kept changing first semester and I don't even know who he is

DS wrote his bus driver a card. School ended last week for us but I am going to have him write one for his teacher as well (she is coming to one of his swim meets this week). Last year we did $25 gift cards to his main classroom teacher and his bus driver.

Gift card or a card with a note or a note to their boss praising them.

Forget anything else.

Even a $5 gift card is better than....anything else you might be thinking. Haha

We did gift cards to the favorite local ice cream place for end of year gifts.

We did Teacher Appreciation gifts. $25 Target card to the main teacher & stationary sets to the specials teachers. (Stationary was one of the suggested PTO items)

At the end of the year I wrote a heartfelt thank you to his main teacher & also sent an email to the principal about how amazing she was. (We did not do this for Kindergarten, his 1st grade teacher really blew us away, she was so awesome.)

I always suggest a group gift cards with other parents. IF you can't do that then $5 to $10 gift cards is fine since you have so many gifts to offer. A nice heartfelt note and a gift card is the way to good unless you know a lot about the folks you're gifting too.

I have 2 kids and I think each class asked for $25 to cover the classroom teachers and the special teachers like gym/art/music.

We did gift cards for all of the teachers and before/after care. Various amounts depending on if they're electives or main teacher.

Class mom collected money from everyone to give each teacher a lump sum of cash

The only end of year gift I did was for our crossing guard. He retired at the end of the school year so we all went a bit overboard for him.

I did write a nice note for DD's main teacher for end of the year.

We did Target gift cards for DS1's teacher and the parapro in his classroom. Totally forgot about the bus driver, but we gave them something at Christmas so at least we've thanked them once.

Gift card for DS2's speech teacher. For his teacher and aides (he is in prek, 1 teacher and 5 aides), the PTG collected money and bought one big gc.

Gift cards are not phoning it in. I am a teacher at my kids' school. I give gift cards.

We did GC’s target for her before and after-school teachers and Amazon for her main teacher and assistant.

Gift cards are never a bad idea. Add a nice note.

I don't think you'll find a teacher out there who wouldn't prefer a Target etc gift card over another coffee cup, candle or hand lotion.
