What does he like? Paw Patrol? Legos? Vehicles? Building? Or something else?
Junior lego sets
books
toys related to whatever interests he has
Yes to Paw Patrol but I think that might be on the way out. I know he likes Blaze. Big into cars and such. Based on his wishlist dinosaurs seem to be an interest. He spends a lot of time outside.
Hot Wheels are a huge hit with my 5yo and have been for a while. There are some “sets” but you can also buy mix-and -match sets of track for free building, which is always fun.
Legos are also big.
Experience gift would be really cool (zoo, bounce house, children’s museum, aquarium, etc).
Stomp rockets (there is a stunt planes package for probably $30 on amazon). My kids love this!
Also we are super into dinosaurs. No particular recommendations, but I’ve gotten Dino’s in a 12 pack from amazon and then random dinosaurs from Target and Amazon and they play with them often.

DS turns 4 next week and I'm at a bit of a loss myself.
He loves Bruder trucks and sports. I feel like we have just about everything in these categories but then we had a play date at another house last week and zzzooommggg so many new toys.
Recent hits are:
1. mini lacrosse set - fiddlestx (I know lax isn't big in PNW, but I'm from MD and he was infatuated when it was on tv recently)
2. real (not plastic) tee ball set - see the "frequently bought together" here which is ~$50
3. superhero figures I got a set from costco around christmas that I've saved
He has some paw patrol stuff, and while he will play with it he refuses to watch the show. its weird.
Legos are a pretty safe bet for this age group, but if there are younger baby siblings, I know some parents who have waited to bring them out for the younger sibling to get older since the pieces are so small.
