S/o sleepaway camp - footlocker

So my kid is going to sleepaway camp in two weeks and I forgot to get her a footlocker. Last year she only went for a half week so I just sent her with a Rubbermaid tub but this year she is going for longer.

Where can I buy a footlocker in person? I already checked Walmart and target with no luck. What are my other options?

I did look on amazon but the prices are 2-3x what they were in -store. I’m sure due to the large size of the item. I really was hoping not to spend that much - am kicking myself!

Just looked at container store and the cheapest they have is $130 😩

Look at Academy Sports. They have plano ones for $30 ish depending on size.

We went to Home Depot and got a rolling tool box similar to this. It might be a bit pricier than you were looking for but it's really sturdy and waterproof. It's also lockable.

As a former counselor at a sleep away camp - you don't.  Damp gets in everything, even foot lockers.  everything is damp.  All the time.

Really?  I went to sleep away camp my whole life starting at 7 for 3 weeks every summer.  We slept in army tents.  We used trunks and everything was fine.  Even when I woke up any my sleeping bag was sopping wet from thunderstorms....my trunk stuff was dry.  Mine looked just like this:

They were in cabins, and there just weren't issues with that. I mean, their bedding didn't stay damp, so I'm not sure why their bag would. There would be bugs in the cabin, but they kept their bags zipped. I honestly never saw a footlocker at their camp. Maybe it's regional or something

Our sleep away camp doesn’t use footlockers - you send everything in duffles and they have shelving you unpack everything into then the duffles are stored in the rafters of the cabin. But if your camp does th (do they send a packing list indicating what you need?) then I guarantee amazon can help you in time

Walmart online. Get the Rubbermaid footlocker. Everything gets so damp, you will definitely want the plastic one. Some kids like to decorate it with stickers.

Besides the crazy price difference, everything I can find on amazon cannot guarantee delivery before she leaves. They are all estimating delivery in July.

I had no idea this would be such a challenge!!

No Walmart’s in my area have in stock and they do not do delivery for this item.

I checked Ace and it says no home delivery and they are not able to find any stores with stock.

I’m still trying true value but their website is not searching for me right now. May try on my laptop when I get home.

Second, googling "footlocker" on amazon brought up the EXACT pink trunk I had for camp and I could immediately suddenly smell the trunk and camp all over again <3

I also had the exact purple trunk that icedcoffee posted. We would bring so many trunks because we would go to sleep away camp for 7-8 weeks in the summer.
