Has anybody dropped the swaddle early? I keep wondering if he would slsleep better without one.
You could try it. E1 always hated arms in swaddles, but he liked the pressure around his tummy, so we swaddled him with arms out from the beginning. E2, I left one arm out like 80% of the time, and alternated which arm was out. Now he's rolling, so both arms are out, but his middle is still swaddled.
Actually, all of his swaddles were in the wash the other night, so he went one night with no swaddle. He flipped to his tummy and slept that way. Makes me nervous having him sleep on his tummy at this age (newly 4 months old), and having his middle swaddled, even with arms out, seems to make it harder for him to roll.
ETA. Of course after I type this, E2 rolled himself to his tummy while swaddled with arms out. So much for it being harder, lol.
Susie, preach. DH is such an amazing toddler dad, but with DD (and DS as a baby) he seems annoyed if they’re not content sitting on the couch with him and immediately goes to “she’s hungry, here”. Maybe walk around, bounce her, sing to her, give her a pacifier, SOMETHING, before you give up and declare her hungry (and therefore my problem).
Thank goodness, my mom came over this morning for some grandbaby time. I handed DD over and went out for coffee and a double chocolate muffin. My mom is officially my favorite person today. lol.

Starting solids question
When did you attempt to feed solids in the feeding cycle? Between bottles/breast, like as snack or for playtime? Before, as long as she’s not screaming for food? After, when she’s full?
Babies petichiae is back and worse this time so I think we will be talking to the pedi about lip tie revision because I thi j that + the gas are caused from the tie.

After nursing I would offer since i wanted them to fill up on the nutrient/calorie dense milk.

We’ve been told to offer about an hour after bottle/breast. That way they’re hungry enough to be interested, but not so ravenous that they’re pissed.
Managed about 30-45 minutes. I set an alarm figuring I could get a little done before the 230 feed and C's wake up. Nope. Apparently someone is hungry early.
Baby had slept 8 hours today...since midnight! That's not enough. And C is a whiney, teething mess. H had to put me in time out because I just couldn't deal anymore, haha.
Last night DD slept a total of 4 hours and 23 min. I moved her into her crib tonight, and she is eating now, after a 3 hour and 40 min stretch! Almost more in one go than the entire night before. I only hope now she falls back to sleep relatively quickly.
Need all the coffee. E2 woke at midnight and took 45 minutes to go back to sleep. Then woke again at 5:15 and took 30 minutes to go back to sleep. The 5:15 wakeup was due to leaking out of his diaper, so it included a diaper and jammie change.
7 week old DS is so long that he already needs size 2 diapers
Despite this being my second, sometimes I feel brand new at this. DS is starting to have more wakeful time and I don’t remember what I’m supposed to be doing with him other than some tummy time.

I’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing. He looks at me, “Oh yes, hello, I’m mommy.” He looks away. He looks at me, “Oh hello again, I’m still mommy,” and he looks away.
With my first I was very much like sing, dance, read/look at pictures. Now I just try to make sure the bouncer is in a good place to watch TV.

yes I watched a lot more TV on my second maternity leave than on my first.
Anyone done the newborn sleep class from takingcarababies? Would love to hear some real reviews.
I took it and am kind of meh on having spent money on it because a lot of her methods are basically stuff I already knew - C.R.I.E.S. is just another acronym for Dr. Harvey Karp’s 5 S’s, and I had already been following a version of S.I.T.B.A.C.K. per my pediatrician’s recommendation. I guess it was helpful as reinforcement and to see tips in action.
I do like her booklet on Navigating Months 3 and 4, and I have found some of her instagram tips/stuff helpful.
Did you see it in the snoo group too? Those ladies SWEAR by it.
Ds3 petichiae came back and he has a little lip blister too. So we went to the pedi who confirmed a tie and agreed his gas\reflux could be causing it. So we are meeting with an LC tomorrow to see if she has suggestions to help until we can see the ENT

How gassy is he? This is really our only symptom along with short feeds, but I'm still not able to get anybody to confirm tie vs normal gas.

DD had her 2 month shots yesterday (a week early since we're traveling internationally next week) and OMG, my poor baby. She LOST it last night and screamed more intensely than she ever has. It even rattled DS, who started crying too because he was scared. Ugh. She eventually settled with some Tylenol and skin to skin, but it was a rough night.
