My friend is in Seattle and I’m in Ohio. We want to plan a getaway where we meet in the middle and just relax. Goals include: sitting by a pool/lake, reading, eating when we want, and just enjoying not having a child or husband around. It has to be peaceful. and we aren’t looking to do any real touristy things. Any recs?
What time of year? You could rent a place in CO. But anything in the mountains gets chilly unless in the sun, with a chance of snow starting late sept. Grand Lake is the primary lake that comes to mind. There are also a ton of spaces near rivers or closer to smaller ponds or lakes, including areas near Glenwood Springs, Pagosa Springs, Steamboat Springs, Ridgeway, summit county, and Bailey are a few areas.
definitelyO, have you stayed at Ojo Caliente by chance? we went to Santa fe last month and someone I met at our hotel was telling me about this place and I really want to go.
Sorry to hijack blondemomma007, I agree with the Scottsdale suggestion - its so nice there!!

We spent the day there. It's not a "traditional" spa with mani/pedi, etc... real "salt of the earth" - amazing pools, mud baths, great massages, good food.
My understanding from a friend that stayed there (it was a few years ago) was that it was very peaceful and relaxing - no TVs in the room, limited cell service, etc... We stayed in Santa Fe
