I read: The Silent Patient: 3.5 stars. I devoured the book and it was great up until the end. I hate endings like that. Far From The Tree: 5 stars. It’s YA but it was really really good.

Now I’m reading the second Beverly Cleary memoir. They are both very interesting! It’s amazing to think she is still alive because quite a bit takes place before the Depression. She’s had an interesting a life!
QOTW:
Some place to escape the cold easily! I hate snow and being cold.
I finished The Punjabi Widows of Malabar Hill, 4*. I have the next book in the series on my to-read list. I started The Girl With Seven Names: A North Korean Defector's story by Hyeonseo Lee. I like reading her story, but it may take me a while to finish not because of the book itself, but I have a tendency not to read much on vacation. I wish I would have started something lighter instead.
QOTW: It all depends on how hot and cold we are talking. We currently live in a very temperate climate so we wouldn't escape where we live due to temps. If I had to choose one, it would probably be to escape the heat. I hate heat. We drove through AZ in summer and it was awful! I wouldn't want to live in most areas of AZ. I can handle the cold better, but shoveling feet of snow/wading through hip high snow to rake the roof gets old fast too....
I Know Her by Alice Feeney, author of Sometimes I Lie (which I enjoyed), was pretty terrible. Looking forward to a better reading week this week! Ask Again, Yes is next on my list.
I finished The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz. I liked it a lot but preferred the first in the series.
QOTW: This is a toughie. I hate the cold but I also live where the summers are brutal and winters are fairly mild. I don't like extreme heat or cold but I suppose I'd rather cool off in the a/c than have to warm up under layers of clothes.
I’ve almost finished Flanuese by Lauren Elkin. I love it—her experiences are similar to my own, and she writes with s lot of intellectual heft.
I’m reading Exhalation by Ted Chang next.
QOTW: this so depends on where you’re living. I’m in Maine, so I want to get out of the cold. But if I lived in Texas, my H’s home state, I’d definitely want to GTFO for the entire summer.
I’m reading Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah, very enchanting and addictive. I look forward to reading it. Started listening to How will you Measure your Loge.
I finished Shrill by Lindy West. It was hilarious.
Currently reading Moloka'i. It's very good but maybe not as good as I expected due to all the hype.
QOTW: Normally I would say escape the cold. However we're currently vacationing in a country where it's winter, but very mild, and I am not missing the heat at home.
I finally finished Column of Fire, Ken Follett. I enjoyed the 3rd installment (not really necessary to have read the previous books) of the series, but it took me forever to read it. It's a 900 page book...so there is that.
Today I should finish The Binding, Bridget Collins. And I have a couple of library books already downloaded.
I am at 26/52 books for the year - right on schedule, but I only finished 2 books in June.
QOTW: I tend to run cold, so I would have to escape winter weather.
