How much earlier did you show the second time around?

I’m a bigger person (size 16/XL) and I actually weigh a less (about 15 lbs) than I did when i got pregnant with Dd.
BUT, I'm only 8 weeks and looking back at pictures from last time—I was like this around 16 -18 weeks. 😳 My dress pants are getting tight and I didn’t anticipate showing this early. I have a lot of fall/winter maternity clothes (my due date is only 6 days earlier than due date with Dd). I’ve always heard people say they show earlier the second time around, but geez, I’m not going to be able to conceal this very long. It is what it is, but I’m curious if many of you experienced a similar situation?

I was gaining weight much earlier this time around than with DS. I also started out 10 pounds heavier, but by 8 or 10 weeks my regular pants were tight. I looked actually pregnant around 13 or 14 weeks I think. With DS it was until like 22 weeks. I ended up gaining the same amount of weight in the end though.

I expected to show earlier this time and looking back at pictures I might have been slightly bigger at the 20w pic this time compared to last but it’s not by much and I don’t really think I was much bigger earlier. I started with mat clothes around the same time (a week or so earlier this time but that was probably because I had them available at home so didn’t have to go out buy them like last time).

As a side not I also expected to feel movements earlier this time but thanks to an anterior placenta it was actually two weeks later.

And my weight gain has been spot on exactly the same as last time. I opened one of the pregnancy apps from last time and whenever I add my weight gain to it it plots it on the same chart but in a different colour. The two lines were literally on top of each other for most of the time. It’s only in the last weeks it made a dip this time and I think that’s due to a small weight loss relating to a stomach bug this time. It’s almost scary how it’s exactly the same.

Much earlier. I started off this pregnancy 20lbs less than my first. During my first I actually lost weight first trimester (um.., no more beer related), but this time I bloated up and gained on my tummy fast. This one is due two weeks after DD and I was in mostly maternity wear by 14 weeks. Last time I started wearing some at 15 but not fully until 20.

I’m at 28 weeks now and I’m at 15lbs less than my delivery weight with DD which is a little frustrating, but I’m giving myself grace since I know how to shed the pounds. My weight distribution looks the same as with DD (I carry only straight in front) but I’m carrying much much lower this time, right from the beginning.

I showed quite a bit earlier with my second, but didn’t end up being bigger/gaining more overall by the end than my first. This time with my third, I feel like I was showing immediately, haha. I’m also short so I feel like that plays a part.

I definitely showed earlier (I think I was in maternity pants at 9 weeks because everything else was super uncomfortable), but wasn't any bigger by the time i hit 3rd tri and actually gained less this time. Though I started this pregnancy roughly 25 lbs heavier than when I got pregnant with #1 so that may have played a part.

My assistant asked me straight up if I was pregnant when I was 11 weeks with #2.   I was still awaiting NIPT results and was AMA, so .  It was absolutely none of her business and I didn't owe her an answer, but it would've been detrimental to our working relationship if I had lied. 

I'm short, about a size 8, and tend to show relatively early, but it was probably a month sooner than with #1.

Ultimately I gained about 5 lb. more the 2nd time, about 28 lb with #1 and about 32-33 lb with #2.  Hard to say whether that is #1 vs. #2 or that I had gestational diabetes and therefore very careful eating with #1, and did not with #2.  My 2nd baby weighed 7 oz more than #1.

I feel like with my second I started showing the minute the test dried. The bloating was horrible so it wasn't so much showing as it was just being bloated. Eventually it faded to actually having a bump. I gained 30lbs with him and he was 8 of it. I'm pregnant with my 3rd and had the same thing. I started showing really early this time around too.

I'm almost 18 weeks into my second pregnancy and this was my experience as well. It feels like it's finally starting to turn from bloat to real bump. I haven't gained any weight so far, but that was the same with my first pregnancy.

I showed at about the same time with #2, actually maybe later- wasn’t in full maternity clothes until 20-22 weeks. However, I was super sick with #2 and couldn’t keep food down until around then either. I also gained a TON with #1 and a normal amount with #2
