I have wavy hair. 2b wavy I think to be specific. How defined the waves are varies wildly based on what I've done to it earlier in the day. Can be looose ringlets on a day I actually condition properly and plop and all that. Can be just a fluffy body wave on days I scrubbed it with a towel after swimming and then was out in the wind and then brushed it.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Deva cut. Anybody want to talk me out of it? I've been getting unsatisfactory haircuts since my BILs girlfriend quit cutting hair like 5 years ago. I want about 6 inches gone and I always wear it wavy. (Basically never straighten my hair. And usually air dry)
I do wash it more than is ideal because of working out and dandruff.
I love them. I also use the deva line and have been curly girl for 5 years. I think the devacut is worth the price if you intend to wear it curly. A big part of it is using the correct products though so I think you will get the most out of the cut if you stick to a curly girl haircare routine
I started deva cuts last fall and I’m really happy with them and how they taught me to style it. It’s not terribly high maintenance which is good bc I’m lazy.
I think it’s worth trying! Mine deva cut was a bust - she did a cut that made my hair poofier, like she didn’t understand my wave as compared to more curl. But she also said it didn’t matter what products I used, which seems generally contrary?
It took way more tries than I wanted; but I ended up with a more senior stylist/trainer at a Oribe salon. It works for me. I stopped all hot tools (I had been a flat ironer because of my poof). I’m not saying my hair looks done all days, but I air dry only and am happy with that. I use the oribe moisture and control line (and yes the cost does make me cringe. As does the cost of my hair cut that I get every 8 weeks. My friend reminds me I wear my hair every day as an accessory).
I had 2 Deva Cuts and while I was mostly happy with the cut, the stylist and I just did not click and I felt so uncomfortable getting my hair cut. Let’s be honest, if I’m spending that kind of money (over $100 with tip) I want it to be a good experience all around. She did teach me some styling tips that I still use, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time and money. I’ve since found someone who knows how to cut curly hair AND I can converse with for the length of the cut. She’s not Deva certified, but knows her stuff and that works for me.

I’ve been doing deva cuts for years and it’s worth it. That said, just like any stylists there are shitting deva stylists. Find one you like and maybe read some reviews on naturallycurly.com or get a personal rec
Loving my cut. This is just leave in conditioner, plopped, some little clips at the crown and then air-dried. (I take out the clips in the car when I get to the office)
And the price was a damn steal. It's a half hour drive (without traffic) but a third of the price of the places closer to home/work.
I've been getting DevaCuts for the last year and agree - they grow out well. My salon also offers in-between "trims" - where they'll do the dry cut portion only - i think it's half the cost of the full cut. I'm finding that if i alternate a full cut and trim every 3 months, that's a good balance.
