I wore actual makeup for two whole days! I'm not sure where my slump came from, but I'm glad it seems to be over. I've missed playing with my makeup but couldn't get it up to actually do it.
Oh. Wait. Ha! It was my job. I was stressed about my job and it's over and suddenly I want to paint my face again. LOLOL. That's probably it.
Less than three months until we move. I think I'm going to do a pretty serious purge of the makeup that I don't ever use. I've got too much stuff, and the clutter is making hard to enjoy what I have.
Anyone have any creative ideas for giving away used makeup? I don't really have any good teen girls in my life who would want it. School theater productions is one option I've heard.

That seems like a good one. I have struggled with this too. I hate to throw away so much, but who wants my ever so slightly used Revlon lipstick? Nobody.

I have actually placed a re-order on a skin care regime, which I can't remember ever doing before except on very basic items like Cetaphil moisturizer. The Paula's Choice stuff is really working for me, both on the acne front and on fine lines. I'm impressed, both at how much clearer and smoother my skin is, as well as how noticeable the improvement in fine lines is on my chest. I just figured that that was how my skin was, now -- I mean, I am in my 40s.
Did anyone else pick up any of the new Lisa Eldridge lipsticks? I couldn’t help myself somehow and I am not a big lipstick person, lol
I did! I got the Go Lightly one because it seemed pretty close to the Audrey Hepburn lipstick she just did a video about. I’m really liking it, kind of reminds me of Pat McGrath’s lipsticks. I’m super impressed that it shipped faster from overseas than any Ulta order I’ve ever made lol.

My mom volunteers at a thrift store and I give her my samples that I won't use and my lightly used palettes and foundation colors that don't quite match. She said that they go right away.

My pores are suddenly gigantic. I’ve never had this issue before. I don’t even know how to address this or if it can be addressed. I’m not liking these random things that are beginning to happen.

I have found a new favourite serum. The Neogen White Truffle Serum in Oil. It feels so nice on my face, absorbs in so quickly (I'm now using in the morning) and I don't need a morning moisturiser before my SPF. I got it as a sample when I purchased the White Truffle Balm.

So, good stuff.
Care to share what you re-ordered?
I got the kit through Zulily, it's supposed to be anti-acne plus anti-aging. It's basically the regular Clear kit (cleanser, toner + gel) plus the niacinamide drops.

Several of my eyeliners are running down, most of which are the ones I use regularly and happen to be UD. I wish I had the foresight to use my points and coupon for restocking these. Meh.

My new glasses are requiring me to change my makeup. They're larger than I have had in YEARS. Yesterday I did a simple neutral eye with bolder lipstick. It made a big difference. I've had these glasses for about three weeks. Honestly I am not a big fan. I just can't justify another pair at the moment. Yesterday was the first day I didn't hate the glasses. Today did a more fun eye, not as happy. Booo....

Could you get a cheap pair from online to tide you over? Or do you have a crazy prescription such tbat nothing is cheap?

I really tried to go the online route and it just didn’t work me. I wish it would have but my prescription is wonky. My challenge is the current gigantic frame trend is giving me flashbacks to my first glasses in the 80s and early 90s. I didn’t start loving my glasses until I was buying them myself in college.
I find myself unhappy with my long term HG foundation. It's the tarte too many words bb cream. Not the clay one. The other one. I used to love it. I'm not sure if my needs changed or if changed or my skin changed.
Things I still like- it feels light and blends very easily.
But I get shiny by the end of the day and it's both too much and not enough coverage. On a day to day basis, it's too much. I just want a hint of tone evening. On a day when I'm going for a more dramatic full face, i want something that will really set and stay put.
So...now accepting recs for a medium to full coverage long wear AND something super light coverage that maybe just evens tone a bit, and maybe tamps down shine without obscuring the look of the skin. Maybe would also help the rest of my makeup stick?
I've been using just a dash of tinted powder, but by noon my face is naked basically. Anybody have a primer that might play nice as a stand alone product maybe? Blur a bit and mattify and sets? A tinted moisturizer isn't going to be matte or help my vlush and bronzer stay put.

I like MAC Face & Body when I just want to even things out. The finish is a little too dewy for me but a bit of powder takes care of that. I like Estee Lauder Double Wear for when I want more coverage and something that isn't going to budge. I apply with a damp Beauty Blender to sheer it out a bit.

For a long wear build-able to full coverage foundation I really like Smashbox 15 hr wear hydrating foundation ( www.smashbox.com/product/6035/22769/face/foundation-powder/studio-skin-15-hour-wear-hydrating-foundation#/shade/1.1_-_Fair-Light_With_Neutral_Undertone ). I got it as a freebie from Ulta and was really surprised. It's my HG foundation at the moment. It's very liquidy/lightweight, yet covers well and stays put. If I apply it with a beauty blender I can get a lighter coverage or build it up in the spots I need more coverage. I have normal-ish sometimes leaning oily skin and it holds up well on me. I don't hate it at the end of the day.

Could you try the new naked foundation and let me know how it stacks up to beloved naked skin? I really don’t know what the difference is.
That being said, I am digging Smashbox’s 15 hour hydrating, etc. foundation. It’s really working well.
I did my makeup this morning thinking about dinner with secretlyevil and Vespasia totally forgetting today is also the day I'm getting my new work headshot.

WELP. RED LIP IT IS.
I threw makeup in my work bag this morning! Even if I apply it on the MARC it will still probably melt off before dinner. I might just do eye makeup and lipstick.

I skipped foundation... So it's a shiny face bold lips kind of day. I did have powder at my desk so I did a quick touch-up but yeah, not ideal for a photo. Marketing said they'd photoshop me if I wanted. LOL
