I threw makeup in my work bag this morning! Even if I apply it on the MARC it will still probably melt off before dinner. I might just do eye makeup and lipstick.
I skipped foundation... So it's a shiny face bold lips kind of day. I did have powder at my desk so I did a quick touch-up but yeah, not ideal for a photo. Marketing said they'd photoshop me if I wanted. LOL
I feel special. I’m sure the new headshot will be fantastic. My makeup is sweat proof and ready for dinner tonight.
I find myself unhappy with my long term HG foundation. It's the tarte too many words bb cream. Not the clay one. The other one. I used to love it. I'm not sure if my needs changed or if changed or my skin changed.
Things I still like- it feels light and blends very easily.
But I get shiny by the end of the day and it's both too much and not enough coverage. On a day to day basis, it's too much. I just want a hint of tone evening. On a day when I'm going for a more dramatic full face, i want something that will really set and stay put.
So...now accepting recs for a medium to full coverage long wear AND something super light coverage that maybe just evens tone a bit, and maybe tamps down shine without obscuring the look of the skin. Maybe would also help the rest of my makeup stick?
I've been using just a dash of tinted powder, but by noon my face is naked basically. Anybody have a primer that might play nice as a stand alone product maybe? Blur a bit and mattify and sets? A tinted moisturizer isn't going to be matte or help my vlush and bronzer stay put.
That being said, I am digging Smashbox’s 15 hour hydrating, etc. foundation. It’s really working well.
The Smashbox foundation is currently my HG. That stuff holds up!

The new Sephora two blocks from my house opens on FRIDAY. This is going to be dangerous. I’ve never lived this close to one, though I did used to have a blue Mercury on my walk home from work.
I'm so annoyed with myself. Tomorrow is my last day of summer before work starts again, and I thought I'd booked myself a facial as a treat. I checked the confirmation email again today, and I actually booked one for next Wednesday, smack in the middle of a workday.
The spa doesn't have any more appointments available until the 17th, so I'm SOL until then, I suppose. Dammit!
I got contacts for the first time last night. Prior to that I only had reading glasses, so I haven't looked at myself in the mirror with clear vision in a long time (just a small 10x mirror to do eye makeup)
It was not good! I wasn't delusional and knew I looked older, but man, aging kind of sucks!
That seems like a good one. I have struggled with this too. I hate to throw away so much, but who wants my ever so slightly used Revlon lipstick? Nobody.
I've been slowly collecting samplers from my Lancome Free Gift days (I always want the bags) with the idea to donate but I had no idea where. I have a least a dozen fancy moisturizers and serums that can actually be used!
