I might be taking a flight that has a 20-hour layover in Copenhagen (~5pm-1pm). Does anyone have suggestions of a way I could spend my evening? I'm thinking it might be best to just kind of wander around for a few hours and find a good dinner spot. Any suggestions of places near the airport?

No need to take a taxi, I would hop on the metro for a short (<20 min) ride to Kongs Nytorv. There's a ton of places to stay and you can see Nyhavn and hop on a canal tour if you're into that. Or it's a short walk to Amalienborg palace - a walk along the harbor in the evening is beautiful all the way from the palace to the little mermaid.

Ditto taking the metro and exploring the area. Nyhavn was so nice to wander and stop for a drink in the evening. We walked across a bridge near Nyhavn and there was an area of foot stands setup that we loved for dinner.
I just did this! My plan was for a full 24 hours in Copenhagen, I missed my flight and ended up getting there around 7 pm rather than 11 am. (Thanks Norwegian.) I took the metro, which was super easy to navigate, and ended up just doing dinner and a few drinks at a dive bar I found. I think it took me something like a half hour to walk to the metro and get to the airport.
