Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! It's summer, and I get really tired around the middle of July. I plan to take a week off in a couple of weeks.

Bonus: Damn it's hot. What is your electrolyte drink of choice ? When do you drink it? Before? after or during? I use water in my bottles. I take potassium and magnesium pills the morning of a long bike ride when it's hot.
What are you training for? Date? Chicago marathon - 10/13 Apparently I also have a half this weekend. I don't know...it's gonna be so hot...
Training schedule for the week? M: run 6.5. I also got in the pool and did like a whopping 6 laps (50 meter pool so I feel slightly better about myself). Figured I'd stop there cause I didn't want to overdo it. LOL! T: tempo 6 miles W: supposed to be strength but I hurt so bad that I don't know... Might get in the pool again. R: speed 5 miles F: eh... Massage? Sat: nothing Sun: race
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! It's so hot and humid! OMG.... I can't hit any of my pace times and haven't been able to for two weeks. It's demoralizing.
Any AW's or brags? I moved around the corner from a free outdoor community pool. Finally got in it on Monday. It was a bit of a shit show cause there were lots of lap swimmers and no lane dividers. But I did it. Haven't been swimming in a loooonnnggg time. Next up: Gotta get in the dumb lake and get over my fear of OWS. The water is finally a somewhat acceptable temp. Or I think it is...I need to check again.
Oh I forgot - electrolyte: I use Succeed salt capsules. I take one the night before a hot and/or long run. And then directly before. I haven't run more than 11 miles in awhile so haven't needed to supplement mid run. I'm a really salty sweater so if I don't replace my electrolytes, I get really really sick.

Training schedule for the week? Mon: 4 miles Tues: 6 mile tempo run Wed: Rest Thurs: 14 miles Fri: rest Sat: 6 miles Sun: 4 miles
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I have to do my 14 miles tomorrow because I have family vacation this weekend. I'm struggling mentally with it. I have to get up super early to do it before I leave and I just don't want to. Ugh.
Also, I'm over this 90* with 90% humidity. My tempo run last night was a shit show.
Any AW's or brags? My 4 miles on Monday was hot, but I was able to run it SUPER fast. I felt like I was trying to outrun the fires of hell heat, but whatever, at least I had one good run this week.
Bonus: Damn it's hot. What is your electrolyte drink of choice ? When do you drink it? Before? after or during? I use honey stinger waffles and bottles of frozen water (which is thawed and warm by the 5/6 mile mark). Afterward if I need it I drink gatorade and eat some popsicles. I sweat a lot, but usually cold water and the honey stinger waffles get me through.

Training schedule for the week? M- 6 Tempo T- Ride 30 W- 7 tempo T- Yoga F- rest S- 75 mile bike S- 75 mile bike
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Still babying my ankle but it's been fine. The heat's been really fun but I've been pulling memories of winter training so I don't complain too much. I don't think I drank enough water after my long run on Saturday and felt like a hot mess the rest of the day.
Any AW's or brags? I got in all my workouts while on vacation last week. Been hitting my tempo paces.
Bonus: Damn it's hot. What is your electrolyte drink of choice ? When do you drink it? Before? after or during? For biking I have one bottle of water and one bottle of yellow Gatorade. For running when it's hot like this I do one of two routes that has a bubbler around mile 3ish. I hate to carry a water bottle but if I do I will put Gatorade in it. Based on this weekend I need to do better with my post hot work out routine.

Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! - The humidity is sucking out my soul. It feels like we went from nice temps for so long (well in to June) and then BAM. I was so miserable on my long run today I climbed in a stream at mile 4 and just laid there in the cold water for a minute. I should have worn a tri kit.
Any AW's or brags? - My swim test was dead on even with last year. So...yay?
Bonus: Damn it's hot. What is your electrolyte drink of choice ? When do you drink it? Before? after or during? - Hammer Fizz for life. Nuun tears my stomach apart, and I've been too chicken to try the new formula. I also have started doing a BCAA and electrolyte mix, and I really like that too after a sweat session. Hammer Fizz is what I take with me on the run/ride. I also like doing Blue Powerade after a workout too.

Lol - it totally was! I got clocked in the face, there were waves and I had to sight swimming directly into the sun and couldn't see if anyone was in front of me. It might actually have been worse than OWS.
This is the week I am developing my plan I think I am "only" running two halves this fall, no marathon, since Boston is in April.
My complaint is that it is ridiculously hot this week. I have a 5k this Sunday, which I know is going to be super slow. I'm hoping everyone else will be slow too, so I can win an age group award in my new age group.

It has been MUCH harder ramping up the running this time around than it was with baby #1. That's probably because I ran until I delivered with DS but had to stop at around 32 weeks with DD.

What are you training for? Date? I just put together my list of Fall races. Mainly 5 and 10ks with a 10 Miler in November. I am going to attempt to train for a full marathon again (May) and take the weekly mileage increase much slower this time as well as take the advice I got on here into account.
Training schedule for the week? Well I wanted to run but I haven’t because humidity. I did some strength though. Hoping to get out early tomorrow, Sat and Sun to get some miles in. I love the heat but not the humidity.
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! If the humidity could back off a wee bit that would be great.
Any AW's or brags? Nope! Oh kind of - I finally went to Fleet Feet and got fitted for a new pair of shoes. I had gone there a few years ago and had a bad experience, but this time it was totally different.
Bonus: Damn it's hot. What is your electrolyte drink of choice ? When do you drink it? Before? after or during? I rediscovered Nuun in the spring. I thought it hurt my stomach but I think that was because I drank it on an empty stomach. I drink it immediately afterwards.
