We live near DC and have done New York several times. We FINALLY got tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and are making a long weekend out of it. DH is an architect and a huge design/building nerd so some of this is totally up his alley.
I need an idea for Friday morning/afternoon
Thursday - arrive at Penn Station around 12:30 - walk to our hotel in Midtown (DH has Hilton point so it is some Hilton Garden Inn off of Times Square to be close to the theater AND it was a double point special)
Dump our stuff and walk over to the new Vessel www.hudsonyardsnewyork.com/discover/vessel (DH works on accessibility issues and there is a sideways escalator or something in here for wheel chairs) (any recs on places to eat over there?) DH will geek out over this for a bit.
See how long that takes and head back to hotel for 7:30 p.m. curtain (woo!)
Friday- I have never been to Russ and Daughters --- a working idea now is to take the subway down there - stuff my face full of all the things and then check out the Color Factory art exhibit thing - I am borderline on this b/c it looks interesting but it also just looks instagrammy to me.
HP part 2 is at 7:30 so we need to make our way back up before then.
Sat - we will need something for breakfast and then are heading to the new TWA hotel for an overnight before heading back to Penn Station in the morning. I plan to try all the bars and lay by the pool.
We have done the High Line, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and have through Central Park a bunch of times.

Eat at Little Spain - it's a Spanish-themed market in Hudson Yards that opened a few months ago. I still haven't made it there but there are several different food kiosks & restaurants.
Yes, the tenement museum is awesome - check out the tour options on the website and pre-book because they only take small groups on each tour.
