Dd is ready for a big girl bed. I need a full size mattress for her- I’d like something decent, but not super expensive. Also, any refs on guard rails?

We got DD the Casper Essentials mattress and it is so much more comfortable than the entry level foam mattress we got DS from the local mattress store. I think the Casper mattress was a little more expensive but I’ve spent a fair amount of time on both mattresses and the extra money on the Casper was worth it.
We just moved G (almost 5) from toddler bed to Big Boy Bed a few months ago. We went to a local mattress store and bought a firm-ish, lower end model. We almost got the one at Costco, but H really wanted it to be delivered lol.
His bed is a conversion (went from crib to toddler bed to full sized bed), so instead of buying rails, I bought two pool noodles and put them under the fitted sheet. Now, they weren’t sturdy enough for him to sleep right up against them, but they were enough to create boundaries for sleeping space until he got the hang of it. I think we used them for about a week before he decided he didn’t need them any more.
Do you belong to Costco? They have a Serta one on sale for $235 and the base, if you need it, is $90.
I don’t have one near me. Boo!
Check online. I ordered our Casper from Costco and had it delivered to our home for free.
I would recommend the Casper mattress too. It is our primary, king mattress. It took some time for me to get used to the firmness, but H liked it right away. When we have to buy DS a mattress in the next few months I'll either get another Casper or the cheaper, Costco foam mattress.
We just bought DD1 a new 8 inch Linen Spa mattress from Amazon. So far so good. Reviews were good and we know someone that bought one for their spare bedroom from Prime Day last year and loved it.
DH and I are looking into the 12 inch one for ourselves.
