I finished Before She Knew Him earlier this week. Super creepy and twisted but entertaining. Now I'm reading Next Year in Havana and can't put it down. I can already tell I'll want to read the sequel.
Lots of light reads this week: Paw and Order by Spencer Quinn, a Bernie and Chet mystery (3.5*, mostly because I love dog characters) Graceling by Kristin Cashore, YA fantasy — looks like everyone else read this a long time ago. I really loved this world and the characters. 5* Re-read of HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone — always reliably good. 5*
I’m about to start Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson.
QOTW: three not-huge meals plus snacks (often fruit or veg snacks, but sometimes I just need empty carbs)
I started and gave up on One Day in December by Josie Silver. I just couldn't get into that book; there were too many things that bugged me about the story. I finished When All is Said by Anne Griffin, 3.5*. It was good, but too much like A Man Called Ove so I compared it to Ove and it was nowhere near as good. I started Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield last night.
QOTW: I eat three meals a day with lunch being my biggest meal for the day. I try not to eat three hours before bed.
travella I couldn't get into One Day in December either. I quit very early on.
I read Daisy Jones & The Six. I didn't love it. I like the author and her writing style, but following a rock band's trajectory did nothing for me. I probably shouldn't have read it.
I started Searching for Sylvie Lee two nights ago. I'm intrigued so far.
QOTW: I eat three meals a day with little snacks in between like a banana or some nuts.

I finished Recursion. If you liked Dark Matter, you will probably like Recursion too.
I'm currently reading P.S. I Still Love You.
QOTW: I work from home so I eat basically when I'm hungry. Which isn't the best because somedays I end up just eating all day. I always do a larger dinner for the family each night.
I'm working on Empire of Storms, mostly, and have a few more going on in the background.
QOTW: I will eat a small breakfast and/or drink coffee or tea on my way to work or when I get to my desk between 8-8:30. I might have a snack around 11, and then lunch around 1. I'm usually fine (although my coworker has a terrible habit of making us baked goods for the afternoon) until dinner around 7.

Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker - 2. started good, ended up being predictable with just an awful ending. Burn Down the Ground: A Memoir by Kambri Crews - 4. Similar to Educated. Sarah's Child by Linda Howard - 2. I rated this a 2 only because it very typically of the romances of the time (published 1985). Which basically means the male lead is an awful, sexist jerk. The Electric Woman: A Memoir in Death-Defying Acts by Tessa Fontaine - 4 The Rules (Project Paper Doll, #1) by Stacey Kade - 3 Things My Son Needs to Know about the World by Fredrik Backman - 3. I'll stick to his fiction from now on. Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater - 4
QOTW: Lunch and Dinner during the week while I work, but will eat breakfast Sat and Sun with the family. AW alert: I cut out breakfast a few months ago and have lost 20 lbs.
I'm reading Knife, the twelfth Harry Hole book by Jo Nesbo. It's very good but a bit hard to read for reasons I want go into because they're spoilers. We also just finished watching the latest season of Luther so I'm surprised I am not having terrible nightmares!
QOTW: Usually just three meals a day, rarely snacks unless MH talks me into making popcorn to watch a movie or show.
This week I read Little & Lion (Brandy Colbert) and All the Beautiful Lies (Peter Swanson). I hated the ending of Little and Lion and actually liked the ending of All the Beautiful Lies.
Currently I'm at 3 meals a day. Once I head back to school (two weeks from today), I'll go back to intermittent fasting, which usually looks like eating from noon-7pm and fasting from 7pm-noon.
This week, I finished "Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine." After the first few chapters, the story really picked up for me. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Currently reading "Where the Crawdads Sing." I think I'm about half way through. It's just okay so far.
I am reading Us Against You by Frederick Backman and Do It Scared by Ruth Soukup.
QOTW: I had weight loss surgery this year so I tend to eat three very small meals (about half a cup and I’m stuffed) and two or three snacks. I have lost 80 pounds so far.
I just read Late in the Day by Tessa Hadley. It was a little slow during the middle hundred pages, but the ending contained some truly outstanding writing. I’ll have to read more of her stuff.
QOTW: I eat breakfast between 7-8, lunch around 11:30-12:00, a snack with my kids at 4:00, and dinner from 6:30-7:00. I try not to eat after that; I’m not really a big stacker. My weakness is the bakery, which is just two doors down from me. Overall, food is one of my biggest pleasures, and I eat heartily and well. Dieting will never be my thing.

Ooh, I’ll have to check that one out. I don’t remember everything about it now, but I know I loved The Past by Tessa Hadley. (I also read The Master Bedroom though didn’t like it as much.)
I finished Sustainability Made Simple - Small Changes for Big Impact by Rosaly Byrd and Lauren DeMates. This is a short (157 pages of text) but thorough summary on sustainability. It’s extremely well sourced, which always gets a thumbs up from me. Everyone should read it!
QOTW: I am not as strict about three square meals, but tend to “graze” throughout the day.
My loan for Fire & Blood (A Targaryen History) ran out so I have to wait until I'm up next again. It was slow getting into it, plus I had other books ahead of it, so I didn't get very far. I'm reading Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel right now, and that should be pretty quick.
QOTW: I do the three meals thing for the most part.
I feel like I haven't been keeping up with the weekly reading check ins, and I'm like 6 books behind schedule for the year too, so that isn't helping.
I've finished A Walk In the Woods by Bill Bryson, and To the Bright Edge of the World, and I've went back to reading on Sandmand Vol. 7 (finally!) today, and started Tell the Wolves I'm Home last night.
QOTW: The only meal I eat consistently is dinner, because for some reason my H insists on eating every day. LOL! Most of the time I just kind of nibble and graze all morning/afternoon, depending on what I'm doing.
