Airport transportation: Las Vegas

How is the transportation from the airport to the strip. Should I pre-book a shuttle/taxi or are taxi pretty easy to come by?

When we flew into Miami, it was a pain to get a taxi at the airport so our last couple trips we have pre-booked shuttle services. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet this time around, is it completely unnecassary?

taxis are really easy in LV. I wouldn't bother pre-booking or a shuttle that might stop at every hotel on the strip.

There's a huge taxi stand at the airport. Easy to find & easy to use.

Definitely taxi. Not expensive and the line moves really quickly even though it can look daunting when you get out there.

take a cab - the airport is about 10 mins from the strip and your fare shouldn't be more than $20. Unless there is a huge convention in town, you won't have to wait long for a cab at all.

THIS!! We have done both & honestly I would NEVER take a shuttle again! The cab was the same cost, but took us right to the hotel, as opposed to stopping at 5-6 hotels to drop people off before finally getting to ours. The taxi line seems crazy long even when there was nothing is going on in town. I freaked out at first thinking we'd end up waiting for an hour for a cab, but the line moved super fast! After weaving through like, a mile of barrier thingys, we were guided to a taxi stop according to our hotel maybe? & waited maybe 3 minutes for a cab. They've got that system movin like a well oiled machine!

Someone on TN travel board told me to make sure I told the taxi driver you are going to "xxx hotel, & don't take the freeway", b/c it will cost more to take the freeway?? When I told our taxi driver not to take the freeway he looked @ me like I was crazy, & then told me they actually couldn't take us on the freeway b/c they can get a hefty ticket if they get caught doing that??....But whatever, I didn't care, I said it & he didn't take the freeway, so whether I prevented him from taking the freeway & over-charging me I'll never know....

I would rec a cab as well. As part of our vacation package, an airport shuttle both to and from the hotel was included, so we did that as to not pay extra. I hated it! Our hotel was literally the last stop dropping off and the first stop picking up, so each way it took over an hour. Next time, even if a shuttle is included, I'm paying extra for a taxi.

Get a limo. It's 35.00 and you will feel like a king. Located next to the taxi stand. Outside baggage terminal.

If you wanna run with the steeple pull your roller-board through the taxi maze and tell habib. Trop to paradise no highway byway for me.
