1. How far along are you?
16+3
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
I’m ready to feel baby. I know it’s early and I know with the anterior placenta it’s harder to feel, but I just want some reassurance everything is ok, esp with overseas travel in less than 2 weeks
3. Questions for the group?
We’re getting new bottles this time around, our Dr. Browns are done for. Any favorites from BF moms?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list?
Om, everything. I don’t plan on doing anything until we’re back from overseas (20wks) nursery is done and will just need small touches (reusing our gender neutral one from the girls) but we’ll be moving DD2 out at some point so I need to figure that out.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? i finally broke down and got a body pillow, and it's made nights much better. it's a chore to flip sides and move around though, lol. i have an appt on friday, i feel waaaaaay bigger this week, so am expecting to see a big weight gain, booooooo.
3. Questions for the group? yes!
1. currently debating between the britax bucket seat and the chicco keyfit 30. anyone with strong opinions either way? 2. i got an ameda pump through insurance (only choice i had) the same model i used last time. it was fine. but have read a bunch of raves for the spectra s1/s2 - worth putting on the registry (for completion discount) and buying for myself?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? a lot, lol. we started a google doc with a list to keep track. i need a week or so to adjust to getting back to work (teacher) and making sure DS1 adjusts to kindergarten well, but then we need to be full-out in baby prep mode. toddler bed needs to go back to a crib, the tiny baby stuff needs to come out of storage in the basement, wash all the newborn clothes as well as sheets, blankets and burp cloths, etc, etc. hope to get work done in the next few weekends.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? My hands are always HOT these days. It’s so strange - I feel like I have some kind of X-Men mutant superhero power where I can melt things with my hands. The rest of me is running a little warmer than usual, but my hands are super warm. Not swollen or anything, just hot. Pregnancy is weird.
3. Questions for the group? Has anyone done the GBS swab yet? My dr let me know we would do that at my next appt, and he said either he can do it or I can do it myself. What exactly does entail and should I just do it myself? Is that weird?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Installing the car seats and getting them inspected on Friday, then maternity photos on Sunday!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I've been contracting more. Yesterday and today have been rough. Either my body is preparing for labor or I've caught an awful bug.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? I still have to set up his room which should be done in the next few weeks. I'm in no super rush since he will be in my room for the next 6 months and I'm just too uncomfortable to do everything right now.

1. How far along are you? 37+4
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm so over the heat here! It's still 100 degrees every day on top of my body just running warmer than normal. Also, hello hormones/emotions. I'm so freaking sensitive right now and can easily cry at just about anything. And I'm normally not a crier at all. I'm also unnecessarily freaking out about my scheduled c-section. It's always been a fear of mine ever since I had the idea that I wanted a kid. I need to ask a handful of questions at my appointment today, but I don't want to emotionally fall apart in the process. Ugh.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Get all the remaining things put together as they come in from Amazon over the next week, pack my bag & baby's bag, install carseat. Only 2 weeks left!

1. How far along are you? 32w today
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I saw MFM yesterday and officially graduated! Baby is no longer breech (after I was SO SURE he was) and has seriously chunked up (he went from being 48th percentile last month to 80th yesterday). I start weekly NST next week. The nursery is almost done...I just need to order the glider and pick up a few more things. Shit's getting real!
3. Questions for the group? Did you pack an actual hospital bag/diaper bag for baby or did you just toss some stuff in yours? I know the hospital provides diapers, wipes, etc (mine even gives an actual swaddle!), but I want to take a few outfits and things for him...we only live about 10 minutes from the hospital, so it's not like we'll have a long drive home that we'll require a bunch of stuff either. Also, did you take your breast pump to the hospital?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Kinda answered above...I need to order the glider and finish organizing the nursery. We need to buy/hang shelves for above the changing table and put together the little cube shelves I bought for the closet. I'm going to a huge local baby consignment sale tomorrow and hoping to score a swing & some newborn sleepers.

robinsbff I don't know anything about the Britax, but we went with the Keyfit30...mostly because I know a lot of people who have used it and loved it. Plus, my brother/SIL had that one and are letting us use one of their bases so we don't have to buy a 2nd and my mom already has a base for her car from my nephew and she's watching baby 1 day/week when I go back to work.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm down to single digit weeks 😲 at my OB appt last week, it was decided I wont be going past 39 weeks due to how fragile my VCI is. My OB isnt ruling out a vaginal birth yet, but shes definitely leaning more toward a Csection at the moment. She wants to see what MFM recommends next week and then we'll go from there. Baby girls growth was good though so I'm still thankful for that!
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Pack my hospital bag. Things could change at any appt with the VCI, so I want to be ready. Last time I had barely started packing when I went into labor and I half assed threw stuff in before leaving. And then sent H home with a list of things I still wanted.
robinsbff we used the Keyfit 30 with my son and loved it. Its not expired yet so we'll be using it again this time.
As for the pump, I used the Medela PISA last time and liked it. But my insurance covers a new pump with each birth, and I just ordered the S1 based off all the good things I've seen about it. But I cant comment personally on how I like it yet.

1. How far along are you? 31 weeks today!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? We see MFM tomorrow for another growth scan - doctor indicated he needed to put on a minimum of 4 ounces since the last one so I'm slightly anxious. Baby is extremely active, which gives me some peace of mind, but I still fret.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? This weekend we are finishing the nursery wall, putting together the crib and bookcase, etc so I can decorate (yay!). My DH is pushing to buy my new vehicle soon - he was making a list last night of cars to go look at so I am half expecting that to be a weekend activity, too. Most people would be excited by this but I am currently driving my dream car and everytime he mentions we need to trade it, I burst into tears. It's absolutely ridiculous and I'm so embarrassed. The dealership is going to think I'm a basketcase! I keep putting him off but logically know we need to do it sooner than later.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I’ve been having a lot of migraines the past few weeks (really since week 14) and they suck. I have to see a different doctor at my practice every visit so I get to know them all, but each one has different advice and med combos to try. None really help. I’m even seeing the chiropractor and that helps minimally.
3. Questions for the group? Do you have a doula/mid-wife? It’s an added cost for me to get one at almost 1k, but I am thinking of sucking it up to eat better odds of a natural birth.
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? We painted the nursery this past weekend, next weekend will be setting up the crib and hopefully getting some more loose end projects done around the house.

I’m sorry you have to give up your car! Could your DH take it so you could still enjoy it sometimes?
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I am soooo ready to have these babies. I am definitely in the "miserable" part of pregnancy where all I can do is think about how much everything hurts and hope my water breaks or real contractions start soon. I also feel like a freakshow when I go out as people literally poke others that they are with and stop and stare at my belly. Its actually making me want to stay at home and not be seen in public.
3. Questions for the group? None today!
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? I think we are done with pre-baby stuff and are just ready for the babies! :-)

I tried that angle... It's a small convertible sports car and he's has to basically fold himself into it so he didn't go for it :/ I don't really blame him... well, maybe a little I really thought I'd get huge, uncomfortable, and getting in and out would be difficult by this stage and I'd be ready to trade and that hasn't happened.

1. How far along are you? 29+6
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? AW: I was on bed rest at this point with my DD, so I'm excited to still be having a "normal" pregnancy. Vent: Sleep has been rough and hard to come by, and man the reflux the last few days has been insane. I'm so over it!
3. Questions for the group? not that I can think of
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? I'm still going through DD's baby clothes, so lots of laundry, and putting the finishing touches on the nursery.

doglove I didn’t have a doula for #1 and DID have a doula for #2, and loved it. I REALLY wish I had my doula for #1, I needed an advocate for my desires and someone who truly wanted to help me achieve my goals. I wanted a med free birth both times, and with #1 the second I asked for an epidural, showing any cracks, they ordered it. Instead of stopping and checking me and giving me all the info to make a decision. I ended up getting the epi (a very small dose) and literally as soon as I got it, the MW checked me and I was fully dilated. I did all the hard work of transition and still ended up with the epi I didn’t truly want, but since my MW hadn’t checked me since admission- she had no idea the progress I was actually making and that I just dilate super quick.
With #2 I was induced and my doula barely made it before I had baby, but again, the MW left me since I was only 4cm, 14 min later I had a newborn. The MW missed it and my doula almost had to catch the baby, save for a nurse walking in as I inadvertently delivered DD2.
Moral of the story, if you’re thinking about it: CALL THE DOULA.

robinsbff I have the Spectra s2 and I LOVE IT! I used the medela hospital grade one at the hospital with DD1 and it was miserable compared to my spectra. I love the adjustability of it and that it doesn’t need to be plugged in, or batteries, you just charge it and go!
Our insurance doesn’t cover pumps so I had to buy mine outright and have now used it through 2 babies- it seems to still be going strong!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? 1.5 weeks left of work and then I'm OUT til the end of January. Yippee! I also really cannot wait to take a deep breath again. I can feel him moving around and trying to stretch a little/get more comfy. Sorry kid, neither of us is going to be happy for like another month haha
3. Questions for the group? Is nipple confusion actually a real thing? with DS I had such a hard time nursing him, the first day was so rough and I really wanted to pump and give him a bottle, just to ease the stress on us both, but the nurses acted like I had said to just pour whiskey in his mouth and freaked out over nipple confusion. I figure hes going to have to take a bottle at some point when I go back to work so would it be a horrible thing to bottle feed him early and get him used to both? I'm giving myself a lot of anxiety over it all haha.
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Everything! His room has a rug. Thats it. I keep telling myself I'll place a big amazon order here soon but then telling myself to wait just a week longer. I'll be off for a month before he comes, thats plenty of time. Right?
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Had some spotting Monday night, just on tp but still worried me, though it didn’t occur again and I was checking like crazy so held off going in on a holiday. Called my OB office Tuesday and they said it’s nothing to worry about since I didn’t have pain/cramping and wouldn’t describe the red as “bright”. Probably in my head but I feel like I’m feeling baby less now, or that it feels more like gas/digestive stuff, but at 17 weeks it’s not like there is a lot of- or regular- movement.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Everything there was a month ago haha. We need to get on it so we can get the furniture from DS’s room out of there and transition him to a mattress on the floor. Kid has been beating the crap out of himself at nap/bedtime and getting rid of crib rails is about my last solution besides DH or I staying with him until he falls asleep.

1. How far along are you? 31 weeks today!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I am lucky that I have overall had a really easy pregnancy, but as of the past few weeks I feel like I am really, really slowing down. Everything takes so much effort. I think it is this combined with not being allowed by my doc to run the past month that makes me feel stir crazy. And more than anything I feel like I am losing my mind. I am under an incredible amount of stress and pressure at work, which normally would be tough but manageable. However I think the pregnancy hormones are making it so much harder to manage through - I feel at my wits end with work, and am so incredibly stressed and frustrated. I cry at the drop of a hat so it's hard to keep it all together. It is so, so frustrating to go through. I have decided to look for a new job while on mat leave though, so I have to keep reminding myself that there is an end date in sight.
3. Questions for the group? None this week.
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? So much to do! We are having all of the popcorn ceilings in our house removed and smoothed, so it's a complete and utter disaster right now. I am hoping that is done in the next week. I took a week off mid-September to work on the nursery and getting our house back in order and put together pre-baby, so really hoping the drywall work is done by then so I can maximize my time. The list is long!

1. How far along are you? 17 + 5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
Everything looked great on the third anatomy scan last week! No birth defects were visible. And she cleared me to go back to the “normal” scan schedule until we start frequent growth scans later on. So... I have an OB and a cardiology appointment tomorrow. If everything goes ok (I always get a different OB who has a different message opinion than the last time), I have a full 3 weeks off from Doctor’s appointments!
3. Questions for the group? I was going to ask if any one used the kiinde system, but I see at least one person recommended it!
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? Hopefully registering this weekend, so if anyone has any recommendations, let me know!
If the S1 is covered I would get that, it's rechargeable where as the s2 isn't, it's pretty much the same pump you can just use the s1 without being plugged into an outlet.

Oh crap maybe I have them reversed, now I don’t remember. I think the one with the rechargeable battery would be $50 oop, and the other one fully covered.
Its worth it to pay $50 so you aren't connected to a plug!

1. How far along are you? 18 weeks 2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I’m starting to get round ligament pain and groun pain when I stand up. It’s too early for this shit. ETA-I’m laying in bed and my cat just stepped on my crotch and I want to die. That is all. 3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? I need to clear out the closet in the nursery. It’s an unused room/ sad excuse for an office. The closet currently home to our luggage, air mattress and a whole bunch of other crap. I picked out the nursery furniture—2 dressers and crib and will order soon. I’m moving the glider in there from DD1s room closer to due to date. We still use it daily (she’s 19 months) but I’ll move in an accent chair instead.

i personally think it's a bunch of garbage. lol. we gave DS1 a pacifier starting on night 2 in the hospital and it was a life saver. sometimes he wasn't really hungry, he just wanted to suck for calming/comfort. he let us know when he was hungry by crying around the pacifier in his mouth and not settling down. i nursed him until 18 months, no issues. half the nurses were like 'great, you brought one!" and half just kinda side-eyed but no one said anything negative about it. so, in my experience, it's an overblown 'threat' of sorts. do what you need to do to keep both mom and baby calm and reduce stress.

1. How far along are you? 20 weeks - Half way!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? We got the crib over the weekend. I also used the holiday to score some good deals on fabric for her quilt. I think I've chosen a paint color, too. I love decorating a nursery. I'm sad this is the last one I will do, but I'm using that as my reason for getting everything exactly how I want it.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What's up next on your pre-baby to do list? I've got to get her quilt made, order some art from etsy, and decide on a glider. I really want to start getting her room ready. Between being in grad school part time, working full time, and caring for a toddler, it will probably take me the remaining 20 weeks. Oh, and we have to choose a name - which could also take 20 weeks.

fairfax, I did my own GBS test. Honestly, if things are going in places, I'd rather be the one in control. It was not as bad as I had imagined leading up to it. Pretty uneventful in the end.
