I finished The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and I'm still working on Surprise, Kill, Vanish: The Secret History of CIA Paramilitary Armies, Operators, and Assassins.
QOTW: Ours were technically blue and white, but grey/silver was also sometimes thrown into the mix. I was happy to rock blue, white, and grey, because jeans and a white t-shirt pretty much counted, and it was the '90s so that was "cool" attire (especially with a blue/grey flannel stolen from my brother to wear with it). My senior year I had a t-shirt and sweatshirt designed for our class with our mascot on the front and all the senior's names printed on the back. I still have the sweatshirt and wear it as PJs. LOL!

I finished Royal Holiday last night. It was not good. Very boring.
I started Evvie Drake Starts Over. So far so good.
I also came across The Hunger Games on TV this past weekend and that got me wanting to do a re-read so I'm listening to THG.
QOTW: Our colors were blue and gold. The blue based clothing with gold accents was fine but sometimes there were gold shirts (or really dark yellow) that were just gross.
I'm reading The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. He's such a great writer.
Our school colors were maroon and white. I played field hockey and wore my school colors often enough for that! Wasn't really big into boys' football or basketball.
I finished Give Me your Hand by Megan Abbott last night. Her books are intriguing when you are in them but I’m glad to be finished when I’m done.
Next up...one of the other 3 books I have from the library (all authors from A-B, I had good luck at a different branch last weekend :-)
My colors in HS were burgundy and silver (and/or white). I loved spirit related days and really enjoyed those colors and uniforms. College was Green and Gold, which is harder to look good in, going for just Green is easier.
City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert The Mother-in-law by Sally Hepworth Both were good but I’m unsure how to rate them. City of Girls was way too long, but fun. The book could really have been half as long and still has good. The MIL took a bit to get going but was pretty good about half way through until the end.
Up next are The Matchmaker’s List and Red, White and Royal Blue.
QOTW: blue and white. I was really into school spirit and was a cheerleader.
I'll just copy and paste what I posted on the ML thread.
I just finished The Stationery Shop. It was beautifully written and engaging, but I felt like I had read it before - star-crossed lovers in x country during political upheaval/revolution are torn apart by circumstances outside their control. It's not the author's fault that I'm over this template so that's why I gave it 3.5 stars on goodreads. It was at least a well-done version of that theme.
Next up is The Storyteller's Secret.
QOTW: Same school colors as you Nonny! I was not very spirited in high school at all. I think I can count on three fingers the number of football games I went to. I also didn't play sports. My extracurricular activity was the newspaper.
Earlier this week I finished the Priory of the Orange Tree. it was absolutely fantastic and definitely a contender for my favorite book of the year. It wasn't until I finished that I realized I completely ignored my family, who I only see a few times of year, so that I could read.
Now I am reading the Brutal Telling by Louise Penny. It's good, pretty standard for the series.
QOTW: I think ours were blue and silver? Maybe blue and white? I had absolutely no school spirit.
I finished The Long Haul by Finn Murphy, 3*. I am currently reading Freefall by Jessica Barry. It's a nice change of pace from the other books I've been reading, but I'm not loving it. My daughter and I are almost half way through The One and Only Ivan.
QOTW: Blue and white. Yes, I loved school spirit week. I still do. I love helping my kids picking out clothes for their school spirit week and will dress up myself if I'm volunteering on campus that day.
I am now reading If Only I Could Tell You by Hannah Beckerman. Both of these were Book of the Month books. I really love getting book mail!
Interestingly, both my grade school (preschool to eighth grade) and high school were blue and white and the mascot was the Cougar. It was weird to have something different in college after all those years!
ETA: I also read The Farm, which was very interesting and far too plausibly real. 4 stars.

I'm ashamed to say I've not really made any progress on my book this week. Too busy with rehearsals.
QOTW: My HS colors were purple and gold. I was in band and kept stats for the basketball team so I wore a lot of purple and gold through my years. College was maroon and gold and I had some of that, too, but not a whole lot (no football team). I had more pink and grey because they were my society's colors. Grad school was blue and white but eh, whatever.
I’m almost done with A Better Man by Louise Penny. I’m enjoying this one a lot, but I kind of love everything she puts out.
(Funny aside: in the middle of the night, I remembered something and was too tired to find a pencil to write it down, so instead I just stuck a blank piece of notepaper in my book, thinking that would jog my memory enough. I remember all of that this morning, but I have no idea what the thing I wanted to remember was. I feel like Neville with his Remembrall.)
QOTW: our colors were black and white, but I don't remember many color-based spirit activities. We were all-girls and wore uniforms that were not at all black and white.
This week I read The Flight Attendant (Chris Bohjalian) and The Victim (Max Manning). I enjoyed both but they weren't "can't put down" worthy. Now I'm looking for something really good.
My HS colors were green and white. Another all-girls HS so we didn't have football games or anything. College was navy/white/silver and I have a ton of spiritwear plus regular clothes in those colors.
I'm re-reading The Handmaid's Tale in anticipation of The Testaments coming out this week. I wanted to remember Atwood's story more accurately, not confused it with the show.
I'm listening to Louise Penny's A Great Reckoning. So far so good.
QOTW: purple and gold. Yes, I embraced them but I was also almost a year-round athlete (2-3 sports) so I often had Friday or weekend races.
This week I finished We’re Going To Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union. I also tore through Forged Through Fire - A Reconstructive Surgeon’s Story of Survival, Faith and Healing by Mark D. McDonough, M.D. He has an incredible life story and I thought the book was so well done.
Red Lipstick: Ode to a Beauty Icon by Rachel Felder
Savage Appetites by Rachel Monroe
Careful What You Wish For by Hallie Ephron
Nothing really stood out.
Am now reading the 4th Jackson Brodie now. I realized I owned it and never read if after reading Big Sky.
QOTW: I know our class colors were hunter green and white. Our school colors were red and blue. I was not full of school spirit and I know nothing of sports so not too rah rah over here!
