I have issues with my foundation and my eyeliner coming off by the end of the day. I use a liquid foundation from Clinique (I have also tried a loose powder and pressed powder, and I like this one the best for the coverage; I feel like the other kinds disappeared just as quickly, too).
My routine is I use a primer, then put on my foundation, then concealer, then set it all with a loose setting powder. I use Urban Decay eye shadow primer on my eyelids, which works wonderfully for keeping my eye shadow on, but my eyeliner on my top lid doesn't stay on too well and on my bottom lid, it's gone within a matter of a couple hours. After I finish all my makeup, I use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.
But for instance, I did all that right before going out last night, and three hours later when I came home, my foundation was already disappearing. I wasn't hot or sweaty or anything and was literally just sitting in a beer garden lol. I know my makeup may not look perfect at the end of the day, but I do feel like it's possible for it to not just all slide off, as I see co-workers whose makeup still looks good at the end of the day.
What primer do you use? A more gripping primer could help. I really like the Milk Hydro Grip. Also maybe try a different eyeliner or type and try setting it with a dark eyeshadow could help too. I also find a setting powder works better at longevity than a setting spray for my oily skin.

I have both a Clinique and a Cover Girl primer I switch off on--I have some facial redness so I gravitate towards kinds that help with that. I could try a different one though; I have only recently added any primer to my routine.
I do have a setting powder and usually put it on after my foundation but before my eye makeup and then set at the VERY end with the spray. Should I maybe just wait until all my makeup is done and set with just the powder and skip the spray?

I have found that many of us with rosacea seem to "lose" our foundation as the day goes on - it is like our faces just soak it up. I've pretty much tried everything and nothing keeps it on, so I've given up. I now use a bit of cc cream and just reapply if I feel like it during the day. I'm wondering if you have something similar happening with your foundation.
i'd head to sephora and get some samples of different primers to try out. ask the workers there what they recommend for your type of skin, then bring some home and see if that helps. if you find one you like search for a cheaper dupe online if you want a drugstore alternative.
Yeah I think I have combo skin. My cheeks get dry but my T zone gets oily.
Your skin prep may be part of it. What do you use to wash your face and what moisturizer do you use?
My moisturizer is Cetaphil. I typically just wash with water first, pat dry, and then use some Micellar water on a cotton round to get any other dirt, etc. off. Then I moisturize and then I start my makeup.

RoxMonster, I also think it could be your skincare routine.
I also find that I need to let my moisturizer sink in and set before I start my makeup. If I don't give it enough time, it definitely affects my foundation and how well it lasts.

I have to ask, are you using sunscreen? Is the foundation moving now in the areas where you're oily vs dry? Is it the other way around? Or is it just everywhere?

My moisturizer has an SPF if 15 so I typically just use that unless I will be out in the sun for awhile. My foundation kind of moves everywhere, even on my cheeks.
