1. How far along are you? 38w4d by my very correct calculations. According to the ultrasounds, 39w5d.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I’m feeling good still. Struggling with some swelling in my hands and feet, but it’s not too terrible. I’ve started having some Braxton Hicks contractions again (haven’t had any for 2 months or more) so I’m feeling like we’re getting closer to the end. We got some things done around the house and mine and the baby’s hospital bags are packed. Now I just need to do an overnight bag for DD in case she has to go to my parents.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? Planning on giving birth at the smaller regional hospital with midwives. They were encouraging me to go for a home birth but there is no way DH is ok with that and I don’t feel particularly dedicated to the concept either.

1. How far along are you?
17+2
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
I’m really crampy today. And exhausted. Of course this happens while I need to be packing for our trip. We leave Saturday for TEN DAYS - kid free (minus the one in my belly haha)
3. Questions for the group?
Thoughts on the reason for cramping? I’m guessing it’s a hit of dehydration from yesterday. Played a tennis match in almost 90 degree weather. At least it was short- my match Thursday was 3 freaking hours. Guessing those two matches combined left me with a little dehydration despite my best efforts. WHERE ARE YOU FALL?!?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)?
Planning to have baby #3 at the hospital where I had my other two- lovingly dubbed “the baby factory” because it supposedly has the most births of any hospital in the country!
However, if I hadn’t been induced with #2, I’m pretty sure I would have had her in the car on the side of the road or at home. She came SUPER fast. Likely the midwives will recommend an early induction to prevent that, also I’ll be AMA. Ha, maybe the midwife will actually be in the room when I deliver this time too.

1. How far along are you? 31+5
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? High risk last week showed substantial weight gain so they are more confident that he's just small, and nothing is wrong, but will do weekly growth and biophysical profiles from here on out. I had my first non-stress test today and he passed with flying colors - I have to do a weekly one of those, too. So I'm basically spending a lot of time waiting at the doctor's office these days (I was there 3 hours today!) but am thankful he's being well monitored. It took SO MUCH to get him here so I'm not complaining! Well, maybe a little I don't know how people with non-flexible jobs do it?
3. Questions for the group? Any suggestions for baby book alternatives? I will not remember to write in something so I'm checking out ways to document milestones that also give me the option of having them printed and bound. I don't want something 100% digital. What are y'all planning to use?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? A smaller hospital that has option for birthing tubs - though midwife told me today that I can't do a full waterbirth because of my risk factors but I can labor in one, assuming they can still monitor him okay. Which is 100% fine with me. I'm hoping to go without an epidural so I wanted labor options. My OB practice is midwife driven so I will labor with a midwife and then OB will check in on and off.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I see MFM again this week. We'll get his recommendations on what monitoring should look like moving forward as well as what he thinks is the best option for delivery (scheduled Csection vs vaginal attempt). Baby girls growth was good at my appt 2 weeks ago, so I'm hoping she continuing that trend!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)?
Hospital with my OB. I'm hoping for a potential attempt at another vaginal birth but have been preparing myself for a possible scheduled Csection.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm really not looking forward to my GT test, mostly because it feels like I have so many appointments and things to take care of in the next week or so that sitting around for that feels like a huge time waster (she says as she's here on the boards, lol).
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? Hospital again and we're considering hiring a doula again as well. Mostly because we have to juggle a toddler and make sure she has someone to watch her while my H and I are at the hospital. If this kid comes early, that could prove tricky and the last thing I want is to be left all alone at the hospital giving birth. Obviously I'd rather have my H there than a doula, but I definitely want someone there at all times who can help advocate for me.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Nothing too exciting...just got home from my families annual long weekend at the beach. I have my first weekly NST on Friday.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? I’ll be at a hospital with my OB
2. I'm so nervous for the anatomy scan. I have it a week from tomorrow. I did Harmony and that came back great, but it can only tell you so much.
3. I don't think I have any questions.
4. I'll be having a scheduled cs. I love the hospital where I deliver so much. My experience with my daughter was amazing. The nurses and staff were incredible, wonderful amenities, etc. Sucks to have a cs and be in the hospital but they really make it as nice as it can be.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I got a handful more stuff finished up this weekend! I have the car seat base installed in my car, the the PnP set up in our room for the initial few weeks before we move him to his own room and got a bunch of cleaning done. We still have a handful more things to finish up, but we're finally getting close. Also, Friday will be my last day at work and I cannot wait!!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? I'll be at a hospital with my OB on 9/18 for my scheduled c-section since little guy is still breech. I cannot believe I'm in the single digits of a countdown until I meet our little guy!!

1. How far along are you? - 17w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
Baby is doing good, but so many appointments, the fun of being advanced maternal age( ie old), overweight and pregnant. My liver functions, which were normal in April, have been elevated the whole pregnancy, so off to a liver specialist for me. So we now have an ob, MFM , endocrinologist plus a liver specialist. Lucky I can work it around my (very busy)work schedule and everyone at work (that I’ve told) are just as excited as we are. So tired of all of these appointments but for a good cause right?
3. Questions for the group?
When did you have you baby shower? Due mid-February and don’t have a clue when we should have it. We’re actually will be having 2, an American style one( which I’m not sure when to have, and thrown by my sister in law and Mom) and a South Indian one right before the baby is born (when my mother in law comes in from India to honor my husbands culture). I don’t want them to close together, but we have to take the holidays into account.
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)?
Hospital (see above old and overweight) with OB and possibly a doula, still deciding about that one though.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm still feeling not awesome, and a lot of anxiety about blowing up our family. I know, overdramatic.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? Hospital with OB only. We may consider a doula but I was fine without one the first time around. I'm trying to figure out the most tactful way to tell my mom she is NOT invited to the birth (she does not live locally now, but she was staying with us last time I gave birth).

I had mine about 2 months before my due date. That’s how my SILs was too. That seems pretty standard.

1. How far along are you? 24w3d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
My heart is handling all the extra volume and stress well! And I finally had a good OB visit that didn’t result in unexpected and nerve wracking tests, so I could actually ask questions... which resulted in getting a nasal spray for the congestion and I am so excited!
@lexusgrrl1980, I hear you on the many appointments. Also AMA, overweight, pregnant AND with a heart defect and a history of a previous baby with a fatal birth defect. I have off from appointments for the next 3 weeks (though need to do the glucose test and blood work) and that has been the longest stretch since June and will never happen again on this pregnancy. I go back for 3 appointments on October 1, then start every other week OB appointments, so another OB on October 15th, 2 cardiology appointments on Oct 22, another OB appointment on October 30th and then the following week I start twice weekly non-stress tests until I deliver! I want my own parking spot at the hospital, lol.
3. Questions for the group?
None this week
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)?
Given my medical history, an OB is a definite for me. I am pretty sure my cardiology would flip out if I expressed an interest in anything else as these OBs are trained in recognizing cardiac distress in a laboring mom. I tried to get her to let me deliver at a different hospital because I’m not thrilled with the hospital, and I got a hard no.

lexisgrrl1980 mine are scheduled for 32 weeks (big one) and 36 weeks (small one). I don't think there is a hard and fast rule; the hosts for both showers just brought me possible dates to confirm they worked okay with my schedule so I just relied on them to know when you're supposed to do them

1. How far along are you? 21 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm getting some strong kicks, but DH hasn't felt any yet because she will do it once or twice and that's it. Also, I put in my first panicked call to the doc about strong pain in my lower abdomen. Turns out I was dehydrated. So now I feel dumb. I thought the second time around I'd be way more chill. Nope.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? I'll have a repeat c-section with an OB. It's currently scheduled for the 13th, but I'm trying to get it switched because I'm not fond of the number 13. I realize that sounds crazy.

lexisgrrl1980, I had my shower early at 28 weeks as that is what worked best for the hostest and my Mom. While earlier than many (I think 30 weeks is normal), I felt far more comfortable then than I do now at nearly 32 weeks so would definitely recommend. That would let you do one before the Xmas holidays too.
1. How far along are you? 31w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I feel like I have slowed down a ton, and feel pretty darn lame physically. I am usually super active so it's quite the adjustment. I have been having weekly ultrasounds the past 6 weeks due to a a funneling cervix. However I didn't have one last week (this one is spaced 2 weeks out), and it sure feels strange. I realize it is not normal to have anywhere near this many, but it has been reassuring. I have definitely been feeling off, so am looking forward to my US on Wednesday to get some reassurance and hopefully confirmation that there isn't further funneling/shortening.
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? I will be delivering at the hospital in our city, which is about 5 minutes from our house. Had our hospital tour there a few weeks ago and it was nice to see it first hand. I will be having an OB delivery, and just my husband will be there. I am pretty private so can't imagine having a doula or more people attend. Our intent is to tell family once baby has arrived, and have our first visitors once we are home. The idea of people at the hospital makes me anxious. Though we may make an exception to have my husband's 90 year old Grandma visit in the hospital as she lives 2 blocks away.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I thought sore boobs were supposed to be the first trimester, but mine have been super tender this week. Obviously growing as well, which they didn’t do initially this time (I assume because I was still nursing once a day).
3. Questions for the group?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? Hospital with an OB from my practice, 100%. Probably the same as last time but I plan to ask if they can deliver at a new hospital that’s not much further, I’ve heard good things and if my friend who is due 6 weeks before me raves about it (we both delivered our first kid at the first hospital so she’ll have a good comparison) I may opt for that one as it’s only like 2 miles further from home.
sloan - mine have been sore pretty much ny entire pregnancy so far, and I'm about to hit third trimester Wednesday. 😬 I don't remember so much soreness last time around, though it's possible I've blocked it out. lol

1. How far along are you? 12w
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? We had a consultation with a MFM doctor yesterday, which was recommended by the midwives I currently see. I had some symptoms of pre-e after my last pregnancy, so the midwives wanted me to get familiar with the MFMs just in case I need to transfer to that practice later in my pregnancy. The MFM I saw was great. She had studied my medical history and was very knowledgeable. H and I walked away from the appointment feeling very confident in that practice should we need to switch.
3. Questions for the group? Fave maternity jeans and workout clothing? I got rid of all of my maternity clothes from my first pregnancy and am starting from scratch.
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? This was something we discussed at my MFM appointment. Assuming there are no other complications, I can try for a VBAC or schedule a repeat c/s. VBAC would be with the midwives. The MFM gave me a 75% chance of a successful VBAC, given my medical history. I would love to avoid surgery, but I would hate to labor and end up with a c/s anyway. The birth will take place at a hospital either way.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Just stressed over possible VSD diagnosis at our anatomy scan last Friday and anxiously awaiting results from the genetic testing to rule out abnormalities. Otherwise I feel the baby moving a lot, so Koch a t night when I am trying to sleep! I told H we are in trouble if this pattern continues haha!
3. Questions for the group? None
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? A hospital with my OB, but I do have the option to have a doula there too. They also found a low lying placenta at my anatomy scan so I have to find out what is the latest I can book the doula because they will check the placenta again at 23 and 30 weeks to ensure it moved so I can have a natural birth. If I have to do cesarean then I would rather not spend the money on the doula.

urbancowgirl another vote for H&M. I love my maternity leggings from there. Also, I bought a pair of Jessica Simpson maternity skinny jeans from motherhood maternity. They are so comfortable! I kept a lot of stuff from my last pregnancy (6 years ago), but apparently my style has changed quite a bit and it needed some refreshing. Lol. Overall I've been very happy with everything I ordered from H&M, Motherhood maternity, and random Instagram targeted ads that I've been suckered into.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Going for my anatomy scan the end of the week. Looking forward to seeing this little one.
3. Questions for the group? Gift ideas from the newborn to big sister??? DD will be turning 2 around my due date. Help!?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? I was induced last time due to elevated blood pressure. Due to my BP issues last time (and the fact that I work in healthcare and always picture worst case scenarios) I am only comfortable delivering in a hospital with my Ob.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Did our maternity photo shoot over the weekend and I really hope we got a few good shots! It was a lovely day and setting, and I think we did well with our outfits but I feel like I was smiling in a weird way... I just want 1 good photo to celebrate the bump!
3. Questions for the group? Any recommendations for freezer meals to prep?
4. Where are you planning to give birth (hospital, birthing centre, home), and who will you have with you (OB, midwife, doula)? Hospital with our OB.

I had mine around 30w. It gave me plenty of time to assess what we still needed and get organized. I recommend doing one before Black Friday. We were able to get the rest of what we needed at great prices. (My daughter was born in February)

My first was born 2/14 and it was hard to schedule my shower without getting too close to Christmas or Thanksgiving. That being said it was really hard on me having my showers at 35 & 36 weeks. If you can work it out to have it like the first weekend or second weekend of January, that’s what I would do, or even mid November!
