I’m a remote worker and I use my cell phone for all work calls.
If I set up, say, a Google Voice account to forward calls to my personal cell phone, will the caller ID indicate that the call is coming from someone who dialed the Google Voice number?
I tend to ignore most calls I don’t recognize because they’re almost always spam calls. I don’t want to wind up missing a client call, and I imagine it’s probably not a great idea to have my personal number floating out there.
Also, can Google Voice record calls? Or another app? I often have to interview people for work and recording the call would really help because then I can transcribe it later. Of course I would ask clients’ permission before beginning the recording. At my old job I had a landline with a recording device hooked up to it.
Yes, I believe you can set up Google Voice calls to display with your Google Voice number on the caller ID. (Downside is that I don't think you see the caller's ID info on the screen.)
Does your work provide any soft phone option? At my work, you can have a soft phone set up -- it rings to your cell phone but comes through the soft phone app so it looks different from a call to your cell and you can see who is calling.
I haven't recorded from Google Voice, but from googling (lol), it looks like you can.

Ditto PP's question about your work's softphone. All major phone systems I've worked with have all the options you're asking about and all have the ability to ring to a cell vs a handset or softphone.
You can set up google voice to either ring to your phone as the actual number calling or as your business number. I have mine to set up as my business number on my caller ID so that I always know it's a work call coming through. You can also turn on a "Do not disturb" type feature where the call goes straight to VM and not to your cell phone. This is great on the weekends or on vacation.
