We got an email offering 2.21% APY if we opened a savings account with them-Citi accelerate savings account. We have their double cash back credit card that we put everything on. Our current interest rate in our savings account is less than 2%.

I opened a high yield interest checking account with Citibank and had a horrible experience. They held the initial deposit hostage for weeks, and I couldn't access it. It took a lot of complaining and hours on the phone to get access to the money.

Just saw this post. We also have the Citi double cash back card and I just moved our savings from Capt One to Citi to take advantage of this offer (they were also offering 2.5% cash back on the credit card until Jan 2021 so that did it for me). So far so good.
Bumping this post because I applied for this savings account and am getting the runaround. I've never had to apply for a bank account in my life (savings and/or checking) so I am already kind of put off by the process. I'm just wondering for those of you that do have this account if you found it to be worth it. My Capital One account is down to 0.55% so I'm looking to move my money. It's our Vacation Fund so I only make a withdraw once a year, but have money automatically deposited every other week from my paycheck.

Capital one now has 360 performance savings account. I believe it’s 1.7%. It took about 10 minutes to switch everything over from my old account to a performance account.
I tried to open a high yield savings account with them this past summer. They tied up my money for over a month. Then I was told I could not withdraw it for another 4 weeks. I was tired of trying to sign up for their website, so that I could access my account I spent HOURS on the phone with them. After nearly 2 months they finally let me "put it towards my credit card balance." (I have had a Citi CC for 25 years and been happy with it). It was the ONLY way I could get my money back. FWIW, the CC had no balance on it. I had to use that card for 2 months for everything to use the credit.
