I am officially overdue now and my midwife intends to induce by next Wednesday. I went into labour with DD on her due date and baby is finally in a good anterior position.
DD (4) got off the bus tonight with a puke bag (she had not puked, but felt like she might). She ate three strawberries and two gummies today. She has spiked a fever (after I already dosed with Tylenol) and says everything hurts and I’m having a hell of a time getting liquids into her. This is my worst nightmare. My Mom works for the local virology lab and is already getting called in for additional shifts because influenza has arrived early, however the Ontario government won’t be releasing the flu vaccine this year until October due to some issues with the supplier.
I swear to god if I go into labour right now I might lose it. The kid could have a standard virus but it’s hard to tell at this point. It’s also the weekend of our local fair (a huge deal) and DH has promised to take her tonight if I hadn’t had the baby so she is pissed and whiny
I was supposed to have another stretch and sweep tomorrow morning but now i don’t know if I should. I’m freaking miserable but I don’t want the baby to show up while she’s sick. Alternately if I wait, there’s a better chance that I will then be sick too. I was likely exposed already last night with bedtime kisses too- ugh.

Looks as though it is a run of the mill virus. She slept well last night and woke up with a sore throat, which is so much better than influenza. Next it will turn into a head cold but whatever, we have dealt with that before.
I had much stronger contractions every ten minutes or so until 1:30 am when they tapered off (or I passed out and then they tapered off). My midwife was supposed to come over for a stretch and sweep this morning but she was in the hospital overnight so now I’m in a waiting pattern. I feel like if I did 5 quick jumping jacks I would be in labour, but she wants me to wait until she sleeps and has a chance to check on me.baby movements have slowed way down but are still there. I’m just done with the pelvic pressure mostly.
Glad to year she's feeling better! I'm sure it's a huge relief, especially with the flu being so early this year.
Hope you little one decides to come soon!! Those last days are the worst.
Looks like my midwife will be breaking my water at some point in the morning tomorrow if L&D isn’t busy. It’s easiest since we’ve made arrangements for DD to go to my Dad’s and then we can get this show on the road. I don’t really want to spend many more nights wondering if the contractions will stop or pick up.

In L&D, water broken, contractions every 2-3 minutes now. Here we go baby boy! I’m happy since I’ve gotten my preferred midwife and everything has gone smoothly so far.
