What are you training for? Date? Chicago Marathon 10/13
Training schedule for the week? Mon: Rest Tues: 5 miles Wed: 8 miles w/intervals Thurs: 5 miles Fri: rest Sat: 5 miles Sun: 18 miles
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I'm supposed to find time somewhere in the above schedule to stretch and strength train. Not happening this week. Also, why won't my coach just let me rest/relax already?!?! Is it marathon day yet? I'm seriously taking off from running until at least Thanksgiving once this marathon is done. I'm TIRED!
Any AW's or brags? My 18 miles this past Sunday included 6 miles at MP. And it was awesome and I did it. The mental hurdle is cleared at least, so I know I can run "fast" on tired legs.
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. Whyyyyy is it still so damn hot? Maybe fall will arrive in Chicago by 10/13?! Please??? My favorite "tradition" is running outside and not wanting to die. HA! Otherwise, it's watching college football, inside, in my fleece pjs and with the fireplace going.
What are you training for? Date? #crossishere Cyclocross season is finally here! My favorite time of year! I have a race almost every week from now until the first weekend of December. I have two goal races but am not going to the National Championships since they are in WA state.
Training schedule for the week? Sunday: CX race Monday: Yoga Tuesday: Road ride w/horrid intervals Wed.: Road ride w/light intervals (this is usually a group CX Practice day, but the state fair is occupying the park we use) Thursday: Recovery ride Friday: Off Sat.: Pre race ride w/openers Sunday: CX Race
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! See my comment about the state fair being at the park we use. It's there for about 10 days, which thankfully is only on practice. The other place a lot of people practice (the Ellenwood CX Ranch for anyone in ATL) is private property and is an hour drive in traffic.
Any AW's or brags? I got 3rd in my race on Sunday!
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. It's supposed to be 92+ degrees here through next week. I think fall got drunk and is missing the party. Cyclocross is my favorite fall tradition!
What are you training for? Date? - Wineglass Half, 10/6. Maybe another half on 11/9? Maybe not.
Training schedule for the week? - Mon: 40' run, Tues: 1750 swim, Wed: 1:30 run, Thurs: 1:15 ride, Fri: 35' run, Sat: 5k race, and 50' run with hill repeats. I'll try to merge those two. :-) Sun: Rest
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! - I'm just tired. This season has felt super long, and it's been wholly disappointing, so I'm just ready to be done and move to the offseason training. My feet are also being assholes again, so that's fun.
Any AW's or brags? - Nope
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. - This weather is bullshit. We have 'cooled down' to high 70's/low 80's, but I saw we are supposed to go back to the 90's next week. Fuck that. Favorite traditions: I don't know that I really have any fall traditions? I love watching the leaves turn. College football, but that starts in August. I used to get apple cider donuts when I lived in CT, and I miss those.
What are you training for? Date? Wineglass Marathon - 10/7, JFK 50 Miler - 11/23
Training schedule for the week? Mon - 8 mi + strength, Tues - 4 mi, Wed - Swim, Thur - 4 mi, Fri - 10 mi + strength, Sat - 8 mi, Sun - Rest
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! Nothing much to complain about it, other than work related, that I will keep to myself since this is not a safe place. LOL.
Any AW's or brags? 20+ mile runs are starting to suck a little less. I did 24 miles the last two weeks and I did them pretty much at the exact same pace. I was not really tracking this at all, not during my runs or even after. After finishing my 24 miles this week, I randomly looked up my time from last week because I couldn't remember it. Then I realized that they were like 13 seconds apart. LOL. How is that even possible? I'm way too excited about this. It feels like the time I ran a half marathon in the exact same time two years in a row. I think I need to start a career as a pacer.
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. We love going to Cox Farms. We went this past weekend since there was a discount. It was fun, but OMG way too hot for a fall festival. I love running in my local park and watching the leaves change. I love the cool mornings which we have gotten a few of, but not enough. We're throwing our annual Oktoberfest party this weekend and it's going to be 90. LOL.

Training schedule for the week? Sunday - easy 5 miles Monday - yoga Tuesday - 5 miles with 3 at HM pace Wednesday - easy 4 miles Thursday - yoga Friday - 9 miles Saturday - rest
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! I don't think I have any right now, besides the never-ending summer
Any AW's or brags? My half training is going great! I'm trying for sub 2 hours, and I've been easily below the paces in my training plan. I'm super excited!
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen.
I love everything about fall! Unfortunately no one else in my family does. I think the only thing I will be able to force them to do is King's Dominion and pumpkin patch. I think I'm going to see if some of my friends want to go pick apples without the kids.
Richmond Half 11/ ( I guess I should know the exact date )
Training schedule for the week?
Mon - Swim, Tues - 5m, Wed - 5m, Thurs - Strength, Fri 8 or 10 depending on how I feel, Sat - rest, Sun - 4 m w/stroller
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
I emailed our babysitter on Monday to check and see if she can watch DS while I am at wineglass so DH can get his long run in and she hasn't confirmed yet.
Any AW's or brags?
I broke 22 in a 5k on Sat.... it is a fast course, but I'm still counting it as an AW.
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. We don't really have any official traditions, but we will probably hit up a fall festival one weekend.
Training for: Nothing right now. I think I am supposed to register for a few 5Ks starting at the end of october. But I haven't looked for the ones that fit my schedule yet.
Training schedule: M: 60 min strength T: 5 easy miles, 20 min core W: 7 miles with hills, maybe some core? R: 6 easy miles F: Probably 60 min of strength? S: My first speedwork since my marathon! Super excited to see this coming back onto my schedule S: 5 easy miles
Issues/vents: none
AWs: I get to spend the weekend at an AirBNB on the northern california coast with 5 of my girlfriends. I can. not. wait.

Ugh. I’m not in a good place mentally. I’ve been injured since February (slowly getting better, but too slowly for my liking), and I feel like crap because I’m hanging out with a lot of people who are running fall marathons, and meanwhile I feel like I’m a loser and in horrible shape. I know it could be a lot worse, but it’s been going on for 7 months and I’m frustrated. Any time I try to do more, it goes badly. Ok, I had to get that off my chest.
What are you training for? Date?
Nothing. I’m trying to do as much as I can while keeping my foot from freaking out.
Training schedule for the week?
M: 7 mile run, body pump T: 7 mile run (track workout) W: spin and body pump Th: 6 mile hilly run, I may add on 2 more F: 5 mile run Sat: 10-12 mile run
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away!
See above.
Any AW's or brags?
Nope.
Bonus: We usually go to a fall festival, but the weekends have been too hot!

What are you training for? Date? Chicago Marathon 10/13
Training schedule for the week? M - 6 miles T - 6 miles tempo W - strength Th - 5 miles speed Sa - 13
Any issues/vents/complaints? Vent away! My 22 miler was a complete and utter shitshow - it was humid, I had an asthma attack and was overall demoralized. I'm pretty terrified for the race. My 20 miler was ok...but not great. I have not run marathon pace this entire training cycle and have no clue if I can pull this off or not. Anyway. I'm whining. I'm freaking out.
Any AW's or brags? Yeah...no. I did go to SFO for work this week and had a decent tempo run cause it wasn't humid.
Oh wait - Nike released the Chicago marathon gear last week. They accidentally released the finisher's jacket - which I scooped up before they pulled the listing down. I got a men's small - they didn't post the women's one (and I am hoping to exchange it if there is a women's jacket). Anyway. It arrived yesterday. So I'm one of the proud few who accidentally ended up with the finisher's gear way before I was supposed to.
Bonus: OMG excuse my language but where the fuck is Fall? What are your favorite fall traditions? Maybe talking about it will actually make it happen. Finally today it feels like fall. FINALLY. I pray this weather sticks. 80% humidity can suck it. I got the last of the summer peaches and corn at the farmers market today. I'm guessing maybe there will be some next week but that's it. The apples are all in - will need to go to an orchard one of these days. Now that I'm in taper and won't be training much longer - my weekends will be free!
