So the original reporting said that Trump pressured Zelensky eight times. Was that in eight different phone calls, or has this transcript the abridged version?
Also if anyone sees a collection of GOP responses, please link here. I'm curious to see who is defending this and who is ducking for cover.
Andy Harris is an asshole and posted "Once again, no collusion."
I wish all those “Kamala is a COP!” idiots would pay attention to this wise & masterful woman’s abilities. She should absolutely receive a boost from her excellent work on Barr finally coming to light in reality of her true intentions! This woman has SKILLS. (I know my expectations are too high; I know it’s early; Kamala 2020.)

Based on comments from Trump supporters on local news Facebook posts about this, we should absolutely give up on convincing them to vote for the Democratic nominee in 2020. They are just all in on Trump, no matter what. They think this doesn't mean anything, that Trump didn't do anything wrong, that we should be investigating Biden...
Just focus on voter turnout and fighting voter suppression. Those people aren't worth the effort.

Yeah, the people that are still hard in the paint Trump supporters will always be Trump supporters. Moderates have already jumped ship.

Wait - the Politico article says that Trump is meeting with Zelensky today. Is that really smart? I'm guessing they will pressure Zelensky to say he didn't feel pressure? What is the point? Whether or not he complied has nothing to do with the fact that a sitting president was trying to get information and ask a foreign government to provide information/meddle in an election/opposing candidate for president.
MEETING OF THE YEAR: One source of the chaos will be Trump’s plan to meet this afternoon — around 2:15 p.m. Eastern — with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the man he’s accused of bullying into investigating the family of Joe Biden, under threat of losing U.S. financial assistance. Ukraine adviser Kurt Volker, American Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland and Mike Pompeo are also slated to attend the sensitive Ukraine meeting.
ETA: Also do you think Biden has been staying and jumped in the race b/c this is the Dem's long-game. Getting Trump ousted meant Biden had to be a front-runner for the Dems to make impeachment an option? I would love to think the Dems have this sort of long-game view.

I agree with this, but also with SuperPacs and big GOP donors - if they aren't behind Trump b/c it will hurt their corporate interest or bottom line, then Trump losing ground with advertising and political campaigning. That is where it could really hurt him b/c he is apparently richer on paper than IRL, so having to run his whole campaign with his own money could be his undoing.
No one seems to be highlighting this point on the media rounds: he wasn’t JUST looking for dirt on a political opponent. He was also digging around for dirt on the opposition party!!

He's clearly just reading from the Nixon playbook at this point.

SMIL is saying that this is proving he loves America b/c he hasn't just walked away from the position since he's gotten nothing but criticism/investigated since his first day in office.
And then two posts down she defends blackface and talks about how her black friends helped her dress up as Prince in the 80's...
I unfriended her long ago but DH kept her, just hid her. I sometimes go on his account to see what nonsense she's spewing, if nothing else but to further justify to myself why I have 0 relationship with her and won't allow my kids to be with her other than Christmas and funerals (and never alone).
Spotted a whistleblower guess on Twitter that's worth sharing.
Dan Coats
- he's from Indiana, so he is probably a Pence guy
- publicly disagreed with Trump on Russia's interference in the election
- resigned/pushed out of his DNI job on August 15
- in his 70s, so he doesn't need to keep working in republican politics
Dan Coat is my guess as well - he really doesn't have anything to lose in the political long game, the timing makes sense, and his face when they broke it to him on stage that Trump had invited Putin to the US cinches it for me.
“As far as I’m concerned Nancy Pelosi is no longer the speaker of the house.”
‘She’s been taken over by the Radical Left!!! Infrastructure, high drug prices, so many issues that aren’t being handled because the Radical Left has overtaken the Democratic Party!’
