What does everyone else have on tap for the weekend?
Jetlag can totally knock me out, or I get up ridiculously early for a week or two.
Tonight I'm hanging out with a friend I haven't seen in a while. Tomorrow I have a birthday party. Sunday chores and hanging around the house until I watch a game at 5. It will be a pretty chill weekend.
Welcome back! What was your favorite part of the trip?
Tonight i might go to an Oktoberfest thing, or stay home. It's been a crazy week at work so it will depend on how nuts i feel. Lol
Tomorrow is a date day- we're headed to Taylor's falls which is right on the river that separates mn from wi. It's going to be beautiful up there. Then dinner nearby. Really looking forward to it!
This week has been absolutely insane at work - it's like everyone decided to pick the same week to lose their goddamn minds. I was in the office for about 10 hours a day Mon-Thurs, and today is the first day I've been at home. Way too peopley for me.
However, I checked my work email while still laying in bed at 7:30 this morning, and there was an email time stamped 7:27 that said our CEO resigned EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. I woke M up because I was cackling. Someone totally got woken up in the middle of the night to draft that memo! So long, asshole, we won't miss you. We've lost a ton of clients and our stock has dropped 20% since he took the helm, plus we had all that "no work from home" drama that our legal team had to put a stop to. Totally worth waking up for work to read that - my week is instantly so much better.
Plus, it's new bed delivery day! Our new mattress arrived last week, but a cal king mattress definitely wasn't going to fit on the old queen bedframe, so we've basically been camping out on the floor so I can enjoy being neck-pain-free with the new mattress. It's been delightful and I've gone from around 4 hours of interrupted sleep a night back to 7+. I can't even express the relief/feeling more like myself.
Owen is on the mend from his foot woes - it wasn't an abcess he had, but rather that when he got new shoes, one of the nails went too high into the sensitive part of his hoof. Poor guy! The vet pulled the offending nail and he's now able to walk again. I'm going to try riding him tomorrow - it's been a week and a half of rest for him, so he may have a few zoomies saved up from not getting exercise or time in the fields with his friends.
spindle92, I've always found it takes me about a day for every hour of time zone change to recover from jetlag, so you're probably due for another couple days of being wiped out. Hope you get to sleep more this weekend!
I'm going into some kind of fall cleaning mode, kind of like spring cleaning. I bought some new cleaning products and stayed up late using them. Let me tell you, the Mr. Clean clean freak spray is magical. Cleaned my bathroom sink and counter in no time and with barely any effort needed on my part (despite some makeup/soap buildup).
I also got a new desk, so I'll be putting that together today before I got get a manicure. And meal prepping at some point today.
Tonight is dance and a date and tomorrow I'm going to Disneyland with a friend.
chalupa congrats! My mouth dropped open when I read that. Effective immediately? Damn!
Ahhhh, Friday....how I've missed you! I'm working from home today, catching up on all my crappy TV shows and getting work notes caught up. Tonight is DS's homecoming game and my "other daughter" is on the homecoming court so I'm going to the game with her mom to cheer for her during half-time. Then to R's house for the night. He's reffing, so I can lay in bed watching crap without any commentary!
I'm bartending tomorrow night at my friend's wedding venue. I'm hoping R and I can get a little time together tomorrow morning since time has been scarce lately. Sunday there is nothing scheduled, so hopefully something fun.
We found out today there are no more holes on the heart, the doctor we saw today (different one) said it didn’t look like there were last time either, she thought the baby was just in an odd position and they couldn’t get a good look. Baby is so cute and looks a lot like A in the face. They did find that I have a short cervix now from the last scan so I am at possible risk for preterm labor. I’ll start taking progesterone and have to avoid exercise and sex for the next week until they can check again. I hope this isn’t the case for the next 17 weeks - we’ll see next week. Worst case is they have to stitch my cervix closed. Can I have one day when there isn’t something complicated going on with this pregnancy??
Not much going on this weekend, I have to work tomorrow and mostly laziness.

doglove, like the news on the heart, but don't love the idea of your cervix being so active so quickly. Hoping the progesterone and pelvis relaxing works for you.
I am trying to stay at work for another 1.5 hours... it's so hard. I have so little to do and would rather be home folding laundry even (which I like the least). I like my job, I just need more work right now to keep me occupied. I'd love to figure out if it's time for a slight career trajectory change. I just feel like it's a little brash to separate from H in Jan suddenly, start sharing kids 50/50 in June/July, start dating someone new in August, and then look at a career change in September/October. I think maybe just living in my current job/career might be wise for a bit longer. However, I was thinking about this last Nov/Dec before all those personal changes, so it's not like I'm acting too spontaneous. I just want to start looking around or contemplating a slightly different way to be in the environmental science/engineering field. (Wait that wasn't just about the weekend )
I mean - this weekend, I'm headed off on a run in about 1.5 hours. Then having dinner with family friends, my parents, my sister and my person tonight. Then a quick date night with my person, then he drives to another town for a seminar. I'm having breakfast and workout with friends tomorrow - catching up with them and then not sure what the rest of the weekend will bring. We're supposed to get an early snow, but I don't know what I'm doing other than organizing my house and helping my parents with a moving/estate sale.

Sunday will be a lot of nothing.
The entire trip was truly amazing, from the food, to the service, the accommodations, the places we visited.... but I think my top two things were finally setting foot in Vatican city (I have wanted to see it since I was in my early twenties) and then the entire Amalfi Coast (It literally took my breath away).
