me and my coworker have started walking again. I've noticed that the Full Circle Farms warehouse is in the next building! It's crazy. I kinda wanna try them out.
i decided to give up on FCF. it was fun and different at first, but it wasn't giving me enough stuff that i ate normally (chinese veggies), that i ended up going to the store all the time anyway.
stuff that i buy and use regularly are gailan, bokchoy, daikon......green stuff... and.....more green stuff. i don't know the names of them all lol. i know them in chinese! i eat gailan at least twice a week, though.
We are giving up on FCF since so little of it is local. It's not so bad in the summer, but in the winter once we got a box with one thing from Norcal, and everything else was from another country.
If there's a local Farmer's Market near where you live or work, sometimes there is a CSA box company that sells there.

this is why we never bothered signing up with them. we were considering the oxbow CSA. but we are big farmer's market fans too.
I've put FCF on hold for the summer, since the farmer's markets are all starting to open. I've also been really miffed about the lack of local produce, since that's why we use them in the first place. I love FCF, but I'm not sure if we'll go back at the end of the sumer or not

We did FC for a little while, but our stuff never seemed very fresh and a lot of it would spoil before we used it. Now we just go to a local produce stand 2x week and pick up what we need for the next few days. It's much cheaper, too.
I never did the CSA, we had talked about possibly doing it once my cousin moved in and there were three of us, but then I started seeing y'all complaining about all the imported produce and that bothered me. I just like FCF at the actual farmer's market - their braising mix for $4 is crazy delicious and what got me eating dark greens besides spinach!
I still use it! I haven't had any problems really, or they've been great if something was wrong - I never felt bad complaining since I paid for it. We have a routine now and I can make it last 2 weeks (I know which things to use first and hardly ever have things go bad) and I almost never buy any produce at the grocery store. The CSA thing doesn't bother me because I decided the main reason we do it is because it forces us to eat more fruits/veggies and new ones that we don't think about buying.

I'm not trying to single you out because I've heard is from a few people, but what do you expect in the middle of the winter? Most of the year our climate doesn't really support a good harvest, FCFs farms aren't magically exempt from our winter weather.
Even in the middle of winter at whole foods, where their produce tags say where everything is from, most everything is from another part of the country or another country all together.
IMHO, if you're after organic produce it's still a much better deal than going to WF.

Hey it's W who wanted to give up on FCF more than me .
Anyway, I guess W would rather have root vegetables and fruits that keep well through the winter (apples/pears/whatever) than organic tomatoes from Chile.
