I'm a huge novice when it comes to makeup. I wear a liquid foundation, pressed powder and mascara daily and that's about it.
But I would like to learn to contour my large nose to thin it a bit. I watched a few videos and some used a powder bronzer(I think) others a liquid (foundation?).
Any suggestions? I know to go about 2 shades darker than my foundation, yes? And need a brush for applying and one for blending?
I've never been to a Sephora or MAC. My 3 go to's are Revlon (the horror)! I'm not opposed to a better brand since as I'm aging, I'd like to still look young, lol.
I just use my bronzer. I use a brush that has an edge to it and lightly dab into the bronzer. Then I just blend down each side of my nose and up along the ridge between my nose and eyebrows. Not a true contour but I think it adds enough subtle definition to make a difference. I also run a bit of highlight down the center of my nose and up onto my forehead first to bring that forward. If I’m being fancy I’ll use my Kevyn Aucoin Contour Powder but otherwise any bronzer that isn’t too warm works just fine.
I also use a bronzer, it's benefit hoola bronzing powder. My brush is a contour/sculpting brush from real techniques, and I've been using it for a while. Can't remember which YouTube tutorial I attempted to follow but I generally don't like contouring so much like those instagram models so it's just a subtle contour for me.
