A federal judge in New York has ruled that Trump can't stop his accountants, Mazars USA LLP, from turning over his taxes and other financial documents to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., Bloomberg News reports.
Susan Collins was just on tv and she thinks DT's call to probe Biden "completely inappropriate".
JFC these people are the most subservient, immoral assholes. DO YOUR JOB. He's scum and you are scum for leaving him run roughshod over the Constitution and the office of the Presidency. You GOPers are always laying stake to these high minded ideals while spouting from among your favorite tools from the bigot toolbox. Patriots my ass. ARRRRGH.
Rant over. Oh, and I almost forgot how much I am enjoying watching Perry get soaked in pig shit. That is as long as they all get what is coming to them.
At this point, he can just say no and nothing will happen. He doesn’t follow orders or subpoenas and nothing ever happens. Yes, I am losing hope that he will ever be held accountable.
I just realized that this subpoena is a grand jury subpeona and therefore confidential and secret. This request should never have been able to get back to trump. Fuck him and his dismissal of laws and norms.
It was a really great way to start the week until I came in here to celebrate, realized everyone is exactly right, & man did that Hope Balloon quickly deflate 😐

The document recquest is actually for his accounting firm which will certainly follow any court order. They will probably ask for guidance based on Trump's intent to appeal but if NY's supreme court rules for the DA I have no doubt his records will be turned over. This is a state issue so I double it would go to SCOTUS.
Lindsey Graham just called Trump a liar on FOX. States that ISIS is not defeated.
He's tweeting against 45 now, too. Click through for thread; I quote the latest:
"By abandoning the Kurds we have sent the most dangerous signal possible – America is an unreliable ally and it’s just a matter of time before China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea act out in dangerous ways."

I certainly hope so. Then again Trump has gotten away with pardoning someone of contempt of court before, and I'm sure he won't hesitate to try it again.

Yet he still has Trump as his twitter banner. SMH.

I don't think he can pardon when it's in state court.

Oh good point. That makes me feel better. (Not that I'd put it past him to try)

This may not be true For example federal grand jury laws require the government and jurors to be confidential, but witnesses are not bound by confidentiality. The accountant firm could notify him about the subpoena if it was federal. It's possible NY has a similar set up.
“President Trump’s former ISIS envoy on Monday slammed the decision to pull U.S. troops out of northern Syria, calling the president “impulsive” and claiming the move will help Russia, Iran and ISIS.
“Donald Trump is not a Commander-in-Chief. He makes impulsive decisions with no knowledge or deliberation,” Brett McGurk tweeted. “He sends military personnel into harm’s way with no backing. He blusters and then leaves our allies exposed when adversaries call his bluff or he confronts a hard phone call.””

I wonder if Russia is getting concerned that Trump may not last as long as hoped. If that is the case, they may be ramping up their demands on him. Trying to get things accomplished sooner rather than later.

This is brutal (but necessary) criticism. And it really pisses me off that this is another instance of these assholes being dismissive of actual experts. It’s part of what I think is a troubling trend of more people effectively saying “but I did my own (bullshit) research!!!”. Not that Trump does research on anything but hopefully you get what I mean.
Chairmen Schiff, Cummings, and Engel have subpoenaed the Pentagon and the Office of Management and Budget for key Ukraine documents as part of the House's impeachment inquiry. The deadline is October 15.

This is apropos of nothing, but I went to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch thing on Saturday and there was an entire table of elderly women sitting around discussing things, and there was a Trump 2020 hat on the table. It was so disheartening. It wasn't surprising considering we were in a very rural part of my very blue state, but it took a lot for me to not give them a piece of my mind.
Text of Trump's tweet at 8:38 this morning. I didn't see it (yet) on Unfollow Trump but I clicked on his page and sure enough, it was there.
As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!
