Anyone have anything?
We are going to a January wedding that’s outside in Tahoe and have no idea what to wear. It’s a nice wedding (not jeans/snow pants, big white bridal gown, etc) but it’s outside in winter in the snow.
Also what do my boys wear? (Will be 8&3). Whatever with jackets, hats, and gloves I presume.
I went to buy new bras yesterday because mine were in terrible shape. A few related randoms: 1) why are bras so expensive? 2) I got remeasured. I’m a 34 E, but as the sales woman said, “Good luck finding that. Wear a 36 D instead.” So I am. That’s the size I’ve been wearing. 3) I got minimizer bras, and I’m in love with them. I look 10 lbs thinner just because my gigantic hooters are more normal sized.
Tax laws for economy sharing aka side gigs like Uber, Lyft, And Airbnb is really a PITA. This is after listening to 3 hours of seminar this morning. This afternoon is foreign income and really glad I don't have any clients that live and work abroad.

mommyatty, I’m a 32G so I feel your pain. I buy most of mine online and exclusively wear underwire-having sports bras at home. God bless minimizers.
We survived like two hours at Men’s Warehouse and then rewarded the kids with Halloween costume shopping. H looks quite handsome. I’d forgotten how nice he looks in dress clothes. When we met he wore a suit almost daily and now it’s baggy jeans and sloganed tee shirts.
Next date night the charcoal slacks and button downs are coming out of the closet, H.
I think I spent my entire paycheck today. Dd needed shoes for homecoming, plus she needed some versatile type Van shoes for school with colder weather. Then she needed a gift for her volleyball "secret sister " . Its Senior night so she got her a variety of gifts and candy. Then she needed a pencil skirt and white shirt for a dress uniform. Even with an XS, she had to fold over the skirt. On top of this, my Freshman still wants to go T or T on our upcoming camping trip, so we need a Halloween costume. I'm glad she's still in the spirit.
Random, she needs black pantyhose for her uniform. She will dress all 3 days for convention, so I bought 3 pairs. Based on my recollection, she will ruin a pair a day. The pantyhose section is very small these days.
Celebrate. I went to church tonight. Dd has practice at 4, so I am going to run then. This means I get a Sunday morning to just do whatever. Drink coffee, have a litte breakfast, catch up on the news, whatever suits my fancy.
sdlaura- I have no idea. Maybe khakis with snow boots and a winter sweater over a button down? Can your kids resist playing in the snow during the wedding?
I started my morning falling down the stairs. I stepped wrong on the last step and smashed my shin into the bench there. I’m OK- nothing broken but ouch! And I am sore. ] Weather was crappy and soccer was cancelled. We had DS’s family party, did puzzles and legos and I took my mom shopping. I had Kohl’s cash, so I got DD a shirt for $0. Mom wanted furniture from Ikea and of course Ikea had it in 8 different pieces instead of a set.
mommyatty I feel you I'm a 34FF here. I find most of mine at Nordstrom Rack so about 50% off sticker price but I don't get much choice. I'm in need of a new nude bra and having no luck.
Speaking of bras-I shopped last week. I’ve gone from a barely 36A (I had gapping!) to a full 36D. It’s weird bc you can’t tell when I have clothes on at work, but I put on a bikini or workout clothes and Omg it’s a world of difference. SO glad I added this on.
I think the grass is always greener - I’d love a bit more than my 36B/small C on a good day!
I wasn’t feeling well yesterday. Made it through two soccer games and a bday party (pool and magician - never seen that combo before but it was fun) before puking last night. Ugh. At least it meant going to bed early. I’m still going to try going to my OrangeTheory class this morning. Hopefully that doesn’t turn out to be a terrible idea. I think it was something I ate and not something communicable.
I’m a 32 G, so I understand. I got my latest from thirdlove. In person stores don’t have my sizes unless I go to a bra specialty shop. I dont want to drive all the way into the city then into the busy shopping area if the city just for bras. If i’m going into the city DH wants to go to which means bringing the kids which he then mostly ignores at the stores. So then there is no actual shopping being done just me going insane correcting them 8 million times, don’t crawl on that table type stuff. So online it is!
waverly I never shop for myself with kids! Most of my shopping happens when they’re in school/I leave work a little early, or when I have time to kill during work travel. I can’t even imagine what a disaster bra shopping would be with my kids.
I also just normally buy the kids clothes without taking them shopping. But now that DD is 7 I might try taking her with me soon to get her some cooler weather clothes.
We have my niece’s birthday party today and then I have to go get the kids their ski passes and maybe ski equipment depending on who’s doesn’t fit anymore. I detest doing this chore without DH, but he has drill this weekend and apparently it’s the last day for the free elementary pass so I have to do it. Not to mention it’s mid-October which is probably too late for the equipment, but hopefully not. Normally we take care of it in August/September, but for some reason this year I just have been falling down all over the place.
Back to normal work schedule this week after working as needed mainly for the past 2 weeks while youngest recovered from his tonsilloadenoidectomy. I was so much more productive with tight timelines. I’m looking forward to him going back to school and hopefully there will be a notable behavior improvement. He has completely stopped snoring, started breathing through his nose, and now sleeps so silently I have to go check that his chest is moving when I check on him before I go to bed. Before I could hear him snoring from anywhere in the house so I knew he was breathing at any given time! It’s like a freaking miracle. Now we just hope that was part of what was behind his poor choices!
Also I’m convinced they just don’t really sell bras for most sizes. I’m on the very extreme end of the spectrum the other way (don’t even really need the support, juts need some coverage because nursing 3 kids did a number). Also incredibly expensive and only one website in the entire internet sells my size. Not a single actual store that I’ve ever found sells 34AAA. Not even in the kids section and I’ve tried that (they might sell the size, but the kids ones have shorter straps or something that doesn’t work for adults, it’s annoying).
mrsGreeko I agree it is a terrible chore. My H had drill last weekend and he’s leaving for a long time next weekend. I asked him to at least size everyone so that I can take them to the ski swap with direction.
Our swap is in a parking lot and once a year, very crowded. Taking them sucks but I had him with me last year. I put the little one in a stroller.

Well, we went and it was a 2 hour wait to get the elementary pass (last day and it’s free so yeah) and 1.25 hours to trade equipment. We left. I’ll just get everyone the military passes online and go trade when DH is around. It was not even remotely worth the time and effort of keeping the kids from making a scene in that store today! I wish I could still stroller a kid, that sure made it a tiny bit easier!
Skiing sucks around here. The smaller hills are tow rope that kills your arms/ shoulders.
Rental and ski lift are $$$$. I’ve almost given up.
we just started taking our big kids 2 seasons ago. Buying used equipment saves so much time and money. There were family deals that saved us cash too. PA has free skiing for 4th and 5th graders, too. Last year we went 6 times. This year we will go at least 3, bc I bought tickets for 3 uses. We are also skiing for a week in Canada over Christmas, its so much cheaper there!

We are in Colorado, it’s practically a crime not to ski. Our kids have been skiing since they were 1-2. They are all better than me. They give free limited passes to all K-5 kids (except I missed that today blah), but also they have a super awesome military pass that’s only $159 for the season. And we do the junior trade in program for the kids which keeps it cheap for equipment since you pay $100 the first year and then get $50 trade in value the following year so it only is $50 each year. But it’s still not cheap. We have good mountains though which probably makes it more worth it.
Toddler was diagnosed with croup on Thursday. H missed work Wed., I took off Thurs, and had our college babysitter keep her on Friday while twins went to daycare.
The twins got it anyway, even with keeping them all separated. They're 7 months tomorrow, so pedi suggests we sleep with them in the room. Last night was rough- they had been STTN for the past 3.5 months, but last night all three kids were up multiple times. THankfully my school is closed tomorrow, and then H reluctantly agreed to stay home Tuesday (Daycare's closed, and my new work contract doesn't allow personal days the day after 3 day weekend.) I'm hoping the boys' fevers break today or tomorrow so they can go back to daycare on Wed!
We finalized most of our choices for the bathroom! And demo is delayed until next week, so tomorrow I can do whatever I want in the house while I’m alone.
We now have access to Netflix for the first time ever, so I can truly be a sloth tomorrow. But honestly, I spent almost an hour with a napping kid on me today scrolling through the Netflix guide trying to figure out something to watch. I watched nothing.

At 4AM, the 4yo climbed on me to tell me she had a nightmare. At 4:20 H got up for an early flight. The cat started meowing, the dog started scratching around the bed so I got up. It looked like the kid was asleep and I figured I could appease them and climb back in bed after. Well kid wasn’t asleep and everyone has been awake since then. Before he left H was all “I wish you’d stayed in bed.” Like ... I didn’t choose the up before 5 life, dude.
