DH is in the fire training academy this summer so we will not be going on his family vacation to Florida like we normally do. I am a teacher and have the summer off and am looking for things to do with my kiddos, they are almost 3 and 1. We have zoo and pool passes, so that should take up many days, but trying to think of other things for young toddlers. We live in Ohio (Columbus) so no beaches or anything touristy like that. But I guess we could take a weekend trip...

My honeymoon was in Hockings Hills, which isn't too far from Columbus (I only know this because we also went to the Columbus zoo). I know they have Lake Logan... I think you can swim there. We spent most of our time hiking, so I'm not sure.

What about story time at the local library? Can you do a day trip somewhere, or go on an all day "hike", or even a picnic. That would work for 1 or 2 days.
You can also go to Cosi (for half price with your zoo membership) and the Columbus Museum of Art Center for Creativity. It is fun for adults and kids. I really love Cosi! We just moved from Columbus to Nashville and I miss the zoo soooooo much. The zoo down here sucks:(

Good ideas! I was thinking about Hocking Hills! We went there last fall and my DD LOVED it so much we were thinking about doing it again this fall, but maybe a summer trip would be fun.
The kids love COSI, so I will definitely do that. I am also thinking a trip (day/overnight) trip to the lake might be fun.
I'm sure that this summer will be one of those things that just go day by day, I just like to have some ideas in my "pocket" so I'm not floundering with two kids itchy to get out the door, KWIM?
