Non-couple costumes

DS and I are doing our annual Halloween 5K on the 26th and I'm struggling to get my ish together for costumes. I love that he still wants to do this with me and I know we're probably on the tail end of this tradition since he's getting older and probably too cool to hang with me lol. It's also hard to do a themed costume because everything I find seems to be more of a romantic couple sort of thing.

Currently, I'm looking at making Cosmo and Wanda costumes from The Fairly Odd Parents, but it's sort of lame. I just found a Mushu onesie online that's cute and thought I could be Mulan, but then start to question if it's offensive...cuz everyone is offended by everything.

Thoughts? Other suggestions?

Since Bob's burgers is my favorite show you could both dress up as characters! They could be mother son, or whatever you want to be. Easy but fun costumes.

Marvel superheroes? There are a ton of options in that universe.

doriswe, is anyone else doing it with you? If they are, pac-man and ghosts are super easy (and easy to run in). Or the Super Mario Brothers, Ghost Busters, Mike and Sully from Monsters, Inc. I feel like there are a lot of "friend" options that would easily work.

You can do cheesy ones like PB and Jelly or Batman and Robin or Scooby and Shaggy or Avocado and Toast or Dorothy and Toto the Mario Brothers or Wayne and Garth or Wreck-it-Ralph and Fix-it-Felix or the new Men in Black guys. What about Care Bears (does he know what those are? )? You could each pick one (i.e. love-a-lot bear, grumpy bear, funshine bear, cheer bear, birthday bear, etc.) and do that easily on a plain, colored T-shirt and then just wear some headband bear ears.
