farfalla2011 and lucky428, thank you both for sharing your experiences. It makes me feel a lot better about the end-game to all of this
Update on me: saw MFM this morning and she said his fluid levels are dipping some now so we need to move forward. He put on 7 ounces in 2 weeks which is good but he's still so tiny. I bawled and bawled and bawled and she was incredibly encouraging and kind.
So we go in tonight and I'm frantically trying to get everything done.

1. How far along are you?
23 weeks today.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
Fetal echo was Tuesday, which was also my 39th birthday. He finally cooperated and everything is looking good. I’m on monthly growth scan, mainly because I’m still loosing weight well into my second trimester. Three weeks ago he was in the 50th percentile, and is really active so fingers crossed everything still looks good
3. Questions for the group?
Anyone with gestational diabetes have issues with weight gain. My blood sugars have been great, but the loosing weight is starting to get my docs a little concerned. I’ve been eating low carb, high protein with lots of fruits and vegetables and am at a loss on what to eat that’s not going to mess up my blood sugars.
4. Where will your baby sleep when they arrive? Their room, PnP, bassinet, etc! So many fun options, always curious what everyone does. No judgment zone!
In our room in a bassinet most likely but haven’t really decided
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I have a friend who is quite a bit older than I am (60) who wanted to go to my first OB ultrasound. I don't want her to go. So I told her it was when she was going to be out of town. Well, she cancelled her trip and the first thing she says is "what time and day is your ultrasound?" Ugh. So I told her I did not want her to come to the first appointment because we have a lot to talk about with the doctor. (My labor last time did not go well). She has not responded to that text. Why do I feel guilty about this? This is my pregnancy and she is not my mom (not that I would want my mom at my appoint either, but that's another story.)

My first son slept in our room until 9 months and I am hoping to do the same with this little guy. I really don't want to buy another crib and if we can get this one to 9 months we will move my first son to a big boy bed.
I dont go here right now, but wanted to comment. I know that my ultrasounds until I was 17 weeks were transvaginal ones. I wouldn't want anyone there. Crap, I barely wanted to be there lol.
I think you handled that well the second go round. If you feel guilty, maybe show her the pictures after? Honestly, I wouldn't want anyone there but my partner.
Thank you. She came around and was pretty good about it. And yeah, this one will still be a transvaginal. she actually went to my first OB appointment last time around kind of by chance. I was not expecting an ultrasound because we had already had two with our RE. So, I think she was expecting to be able to go to this one.

I don't have gestational diabetes but I have pre-existing type 2 diabetes. Are you taking any medication? It might be an option if you need to expand what you are eating (I take metformin and just started insulin last week). Have you had your thyroid levels checked? I have lost 8 pounds since getting pregnant and its not from morning sickness (I'm a lucky one who has not had much morning sickness). I had mine check and my TSH was .126, so very hyperthyroid. We are going to check it again next week to see where its at and where my T3 and T4 are at and see if there needs to be an intervention.

I’m already on metformin ( for PCOS) and insulin. Thyroid was checked in May and normal. I see me endocrinologist on Monday so I’m going to see if they can check it again, thanks for the suggestion
I love the name Claire, it would totally be on my list if we didn’t nix C names (DS has one and we plan to have everyone in our immediate family to have a different first initial).
Follow up to my lack of weight gain... they decided to bring me in for a growth ultrasound. Her measurements were good (about two days behind which has been consistent from my first ultrasound) but her weight dropped from the 42nd percentile to the 28th percentile. They told me to really focus on weight gain and gain a pound a week minimum from here on out.
So now I'm really stressed about the drop which zaps my appetite even more. I was not underweight before getting pregnant so I'm surprised this is a problem and I'm feeling tons of guilt that she's small and dropping in percentiles.

Lots of hugs, your doing a great job, growing a baby is hard. I’m struggling with weight gain as well( and I was overweight to start with)and the guilt that comes with it. All you can do is eat good stuff and take care of yourself, so you take care of your baby too.
