I’ll contact Chase but thought I’d ask here too and see if worth pursuing. I’m in Paris currently. We had a bike tour scheduled of Versailles today. It was actually what I was most looking fwd to on this trip. It was pretty pricey, 300 Euros for 3 of us. My daughter ended up getting sick; she threw up all night and morning. We tried to make the tour but had to get off the metro; she couldn’t do it. I immediately contacted the tour company. They’re pretty small and I was hoping they might refund us. No such luck. They said they could provide documentation for our travel insurance. We don’t have travel insurance. Any idea if Chase might cover us? Also..... what to do in Paris w a sick kid..... whomp whomp. This is actually a first for us; she’s never ill. Totally bummed.

We had to use all their travel insurance products on a recent trip and if you booked at least part of your trip and hopefully the tour with the card then you have a shot of it getting reimbursed. I will say the trip cancellation piece has been the most painful and I think you need a doctors note for being ill. I would definitely call Chase and then document EVERYTHING.
Thanks, we come home today so I’ll tackle this once I’m home. The tour company is actually the one that suggested it. They said to check with my CC and they would provide the documentation needed? I hope they’re right!!! I paid for the tour using my CSR. I’ll post back and let you all know how it turns out! Dd was sick several times yesterday AM, ended up taking a 2 hour nap and woke up feeling MUCH better. We were able to get out and have some fun so the day wasn’t totally lost. And I guess better sick yesterday than on our travel day home.
I've used the travel insurance through the card one time. In our case it was very straightforward, a cancelled flight that led to an additional night in a hotel, but they still made it a bit of a pain to go through the process. They asked for extra documentation a few times, with the last request being that I needed to provide documentation on the age of my daughter. I had purchased her flight and it made no difference on the cost of the hotel, so it was an odd request. My point is just that they are likely to make it painful, but just keep providing what they ask for and don't give up! You'll probably end up getting your refund.
I don't know about travel insurance for cancellations, but I used them to get reimbursed when our luggage was lost and we had to buy clothing to hold us over. I actually thought it was really easy and they did not make me jump through hoops. I've also had Chase credit me twice for packages lost in the mail, also with no hassle.
So, I can't say for sure, but my experiences with Chase so far have been very good as far as getting reimbursed when things don't go well. So I would say it's not unlikely they will take care of you!
