I have an old cricut expression. (and a brand new cricut imagine never used) I also have well over 100 cartridges for it. I used to be big into scrapbooking and cardmaking and vinyl cutting and kind of took a long break from it. Now 7 years later I've been doing some scrapbooking here and there again and am intrigued by the new cricuts. I like the idea of not having to dig through cartridges but it feels so wasteful to buy a new machine when I've got so much of the old stuff. So I guess I'm looking for someone to convince me that I need a new machine or that what I have is still good enough.

Yes! I had an expression (and create, cake mini, and gypsy). I was also waist deep in cartridges. I purchased an explore and sold my expression but kept the other machines. I upgraded to the maker when it came out and sold my explore. It uses the same mats. You can link all your cartridges to your online account. The app and computer software are 1038829181x easier to use than the cartridges and Gypsy. It cuts much easier and is more reliable. You probably will not need to subscribe to the access subscription since you own that many carts
