Spectra 1 is the way to go, right?

Hi all.

it looks like my insurance will partially cover Spectra 1. This is the pump that most folks recommend, right? Assuming I can afford the additional fee, I should invest in it over the other brands that are fully covered, right?

Also, does anyone know if it works with the kiinde system?

I’ve much preferred my spectra over the Ameda that insurance gave me the first time. I got another for this baby.

Kiinde has an adapter to connect to the spectra. I keep seeing ads on Facebook, so I got the free (pay $5 shipping) starter set- a spectra connector, a bag, a bag holder/bottle, nipple. It looks nice!

YES, YES, YES. I used this pump through 2 babies pumping daily for a year each. Its performed like a champ. I much preferred the Spectra to the hospitals medla which tore. Me. Up.

Get the S1, the portability is PRICELESS. Our insurance didn’t cover a pump and i bought mine on amazon (back in early 2016) for around $200. I’m sure it will be less with insurance!

Yes Spectra is uhmazing,I really like it alot and it was much more efficient for me than the Medela!

I prefer the spectra over the medela. I didnt think I'd be so attached to the portability function as much as I am. But my baby is currently only on bottles after a short NICU stay and I am exclusively pumping. So the fact that I can do it anywhere without the cord is awesome. And it keeps charge for quite awhile.

Another vote for Spectra S1. I am using one now for kid #2 after a PISA for kid #1. More comfortable, quieter, and the portability is awesome.

I’ve not used another brand but got the S2 (same but not portable) and it was a great pump. Definitely recommend the S1 if your insurance offers it- mine covered the S2 at 100% and didn’t offer the S1 at all, I’d have been happy to pay an upgrade fee for the portability.

I’ve only used the spectra but I’ll also add a plug that I very highly recommend pumpin pals flanges with the spectra connection. 5 out of 5 stars and makes s huge difference!

Thanks for the rec. I'm going to be using a spectra this time around (had a PISA last time) so any tips are greatly appreciated.
