I'm not Dying With you Tonight by Gilly Segal

It's Big Library Read time again - is anyone reading this one?  Or has anyone read it?

I started it on audiobook yesterday, and I usually only listen on my commute, so it'll take me a bit to finish, but I was just wondering if anyone else had any opinions about it.

I wasn’t going to read it because I’ve been tired of some of the ya I’ve read lately, but I’m going to check out your review in GR!!

I tried to read it a couple of months ago but couldn’t get into it at all. It wasn’t terribly well-written.

I flew through it yesterday. I found the story interesting but hated the lack of character development. While I appreciate that the point of the book was it was one night, I found the ending abrupt. I guess I thought the story was good but the writing not as much?

I did laugh a lot at the goodreads reviews. A lot of people reading it got hung up on racist words or inappropriate relationships, without recognizing the reality of the story.

I had been considering it, but with so many books I want to read and these reviews, I may just skip it!

I finished it this morning. It was good, but not great. I think I gave it 3 stars. I liked the perspectives of two young women on the ground in a developing riot, but I agree that character development was lacking and the writing was not awesome.
