Same as last week for me, Your Perfect Year and Story Genius.
QOTW: I'm not doing so hot this year. I set my goal to be 60 books like I've done the past few years, but Goodreads has been taunting me with being 8-9 books behind for the past month or so, and today I gave up and set it 50. Now I'm back on track!
I'm currently reading Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane. I'm about 45% of the way through the book and not sure how I feel about it at the moment.
QOTW:52/45, I'm ahead of my goal, but I set it low knowing I'd probably read more than 45. I set it too high one year and I didn't want that frustration again.

I am almost done with Know My Name by Chanel Miller. I knew this story generally but reading the whole thing with all the details has made me even more angry and sad.
QOTW: I'm at 56/52 for the year. I ended up with a few months of important but not really brain engaging work at work so to help pass the time I listened to a bunch of audiobooks which blew my goal out of the water. I hope to read a few of the goodreads choice nominees and then I really need to try to read at least one Outlander book. I have only read through Fiery Cross and want to finish the series but each book is such an investment of time.
I read Those People and Red at the Bone this week. I’m in the middle of The Secrets We Kept and enjoying it so far.
QOTW: I’m at 66/60 at the moment. If I keep up at this pace I think I could hit 75 by the end of the year. I recently got a slew of library holds and they’re all Goodreads nominees. I look forward to voting in the next round with more of the nominees under my belt.
I’m reading The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith. It started strong but is dragging a bit in the middle for me. Hopefully it will pick back up again, because I’d like to finish it but I’m picking up a few highly anticipated holds at the library today (The Starless Sea!!).
Qotw: I’m at 78/80, so I probably should have aimed higher.
I read Catching Fire and The Mockingjay. Catching Fire was so good but the ending of Mockingjay was really bad. I’m not sure why it ended that way. I also read 13 minutes by Sarah Pinborough which was good.
I’m at 73/52 for the year. I’ll have to set a higher goal next year.
I ended up reading The Worm at the Core: On the Role of Death in Life, which was great but NOT light reading! So many insights, though. I will be thinking about this one for a long time.
I think I'm starting Olive, Again next? But so many library books that came in at once, something else might catch my eye.
I reached my goal of reading 50 books published in 2019 last week.
Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn (as excellent as I remembered as a kid)
American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century by Maureen Callahan (well written true crime)
Enough: Notes From a Woman Who Has Finally Found It by Shauna M. Ahern (really bad, I think she made up or exaggerated almost all of it)
What Is a Girl Worth?: My Story of Breaking the Silence and Exposing the Truth about Larry Nassar and USA Gymnastics by Rachael Denhollander (very good!)
The Hot Young Widows Club: Lessons on Survival from the Front Lines of Grief by Nora McInerny (fine)
It’s Okay to Laugh (Crying is Cool Too): A Memoir by Nora McInerny Purmort (I don’t remember why I requested all her books. This one is fine too.)
QOTW: I just finished book 189. I don’t have a goal but I’m way behind last year. I think by about 50 books. In my defense, my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer this summer and that wrecked my attention span.
The Silent Patient - awful, 2* Book Boyfriend - it was ok, it was sort of an odd premise and written ok The Real Deal (Dublin Nights 3) - Loved this book, although the plot was a bit much. I'm a huge Brittney Sahin fan. Watching You - DNF - did not GAF about any character
Currently Reading - Your Perfect Year, but it's kind of meh
