Thanks to winter suddenly arriving in Philly way earlier than expected, I think I need to invest in a jacket, even if I only wear it for a few weeks. I know a few people commented on this in a mom-to-be post a few weeks ago, but I cannot find the search function much less get it to work right now. Would anyone be kind enough to share their recommendations with me again or provide a new one?
I got a maternity coat from Old Navy during my last pregnancy. I think I spent $40 or $50. It was a parka type coat. Kept my plenty warm during our cold/long Canadian winter.

I bought a Lands End down jacket when I was pregnant two years ago and I wore it (and zipped it!) almost my entire pregnancy (late March delivery). I wore it last winter not pregnant and I’m thrilled to have it again this year.

I just wear a puffy vest (unzipped). I typically wear that anyway bc I hate the tight feeling of a jacket on my arms. I’m always only going from car to house/store, etc so it’s not bad for layering. Not sure what I’ll do if I have to spend an extended period of time outside in cold in the next few weeks, but for the one off time that it’ll happen, it’s not worth it for me to buy a jacket. Probably just double up on hoodies under the vest.

Thanks, all.
doglove, I have 2 great sweaters from the Isabel line at Target. I love them both. Only downside for me is that they don’t have nursing access. I’m due in 5 weeks, so I’ll be spending a good chunk of winter nursing.
humpforfree, that was my original plan, and I do have a heavier sweatshirt that I thought would suffice. And then this week hit, and I discovered the sweatshirt is not as warm as I thought. Plus I am still working and have a hike from the car to the building. So I am rethinking my plan, lol.

I have a long, puffy coat from motherhood maternity from my last pregnancy. A few weeks ago I tried to put on my regular coat and couldn't get it closed. Not an option with 15 degree weather. Lol. My last two babies have been winter time babies (due in 5 weeks) and it's been great having a roomier coat I'm comfortable in.
Drats, I just looked and it doesn't appear that they have the same coat any more. Mine has a zipper and buttons. I'm a buttons girl. I feel like in the longer coats every time I sit when wearing it I'm going to pop the bottom of the zipper. But they are having a sale on their current coats.
I’m 32 weeks with twins and I can *just* zipper my coat with zero wiggle room. It’s so tight that it actually feels supportive on my belly, lol. But I dunno how much longer it will zip.
I actually scored a cute pea coat type of maternity jacket at our local motherhood maternity outlet today. It was a store closing sale so it was only $40!
I’m trying to squeak by with just a blankety poncho lol. I live in SC though and I am due in a few weeks. I do hail from NY and would definitely have invested in a parka a few months ago if I was up there still.
