What are you up to today? I plan to run 5 miles and do some yoga. I need to do some light cleaning ( laundry and wash floors) then I can just do nothing for the rest of the day.
Good morning! This board seems to be a little quiet lately, though of course I haven't been posting either. I tend to hang out here more when I am running more, so I'm back now. I signed up for a trail 5k ages ago and now it's in a few weeks and I just started running again. I'll be fine, but I'm being very intentional about running before my usual CrossFit class.
Lately I don't work out on the weekend because we're so busy (hello grocery shopping I just did), but I have been going to CrossFit about 4-5x/week. I have a 10k to look forward to in April, which I'm only doing because it was cancelled last year (free entry for this year). I'm thinking I might actually try to run it fast, but not expecting a PR.

I’ve been up since the crack of dawn. I had a work event that went until almost 3, then I came home and ran a COLD 5 miles. Now i’m chilling on the couch trying to warm up.
I was up but didn't ride til late morning. Errands are done, and it's almost couch time!
Well, adding in running can help with endurance, but there's little crossover between long distance running and CrossFit. This spring I had discovered trail running and was running 2-3 days/week and CrossFitting 2-3 days/week. After doing that for a few months, I could run for 3 hours at a slow pace, but lost a huge amount of strength and high-intensity capacity. So that was disappointing. That's why this time I am trying to run in addition to CrossFit and also trying to run faster. In the spring, I added distance rather quickly, but it meant that I never got any faster. I didn't mind being slow too much on the trails, but I was doing 12 minute miles on the road which is much slower than I used to be. This week I ran a mile before my workout three times, and I was around 10-10:30 pace. Hoping to speed that up a little more, then start adding mileage. I don't have time to train long distance if I'm slow, but if I get faster it takes less time
I got up, went to my eyebrow wax because early was the only time she could get me in, and then ran 11 miles. The last two long runs have been outside my normal routine and it really shows. Both of them I’ve very seriously considered throwing in the towel and having my H pick me up. But I finished!
