It’s Wednesday, let’s do this!
1. How far along are you?
27+4
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
Almost to the third trimester!
3. Questions for the group?
Tips for keeping my sweet tooth in check over the next month. It’s been out of control lately!
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far?
This time around- much less vomiting lol. Also, I’ve just enjoyed feeling him move. Now that I’m starting to get bigger and things are more uncomfortable, trying to savor all the little things!

I don't have my first U/S until 12/10, but I'll cautiously join in:
1. How far along are you?
5w, 4d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
This is my first pregnancy, and I'm excited/happy but also so anxious/cautious. I was amused when my OB told me that they won't call me "geriatric," but "advantaged maternal aged." (I'll be 35 in a few months)
3. Questions for the group?
With the holidays approaching, and lots of work/family/friends parties on my schedule - what is a favorite mocktail/drink you have drank to make it seem that you could still be drinking alcohol?
Right now my go-to is flavored sparkling water poured out of the can, and saying it's White Claw, lol. I'm thankful for the "trend" of hard seltzers. But I'm on the lookout for anything else tasty.
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? The HCP test strips getting darker and darker each time I've tested.

Welcome!! I’m officially AMA as of two weeks ago too. Lol. My OB hollered down the hall and asked the nurse “what’s the code for old age in pregnancy?” Ha! He has no filter, but it’s one of the reasons I love him.
I always did sprite with a lime as “vodka tonic” as I found it easier to come by than La Croix. I would get to the bartender early at events and get him in on the code so it was easier.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Getting to the point where everything is difficult and I am exhausted but I still have 2 major papers and a presentation to finish in the next 3 weeks for school. So baby better stay out. And 8 days of work. And all I want to do is get my house in order instead of anything else.
The OB is also getting concerned about my nose bleeds, so I have to fit an ENT visit into my schedule on Monday.
3. Questions for the group? If you have pumped before, how long did you wait to start pumping? I want to start pumping ASAP to give my husband an opportunity to feed the baby but I just don’t know how to start the nursing / pumping routine.
And... anyone who is expecting to deliver around Christmas (and celebrates Christmas), are you ready for Christmas yet? I think we are finishing up shopping this weekend. (Induction scheduled for 12/22 - so nervous our other kids will be celebrating in the hospital).
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far?
This is a hard one for me given all my anxiety - I am not sure I have enjoyed much about pregnancy. That is sad. I guess part of me will miss the kicks and experiencing him in a way no one else will, if that makes sense. Once he’s here, his dad and sisters are going to be obsessed with him, lol.
1. 9w3d 2. I get so crampy if I stand for any extended period of time. My back also starts to kill. I take the subway into work and its nearly impossible to get a seat so my commute into work is so painful. It's 50/50 of if I can get a seat on the way back. 3. Nope 4. Still pretty early but I had an ultrasound Monday in which they showed me the screen and little bean was moving around a lot. Was really fun to watch. Also was able to find the heartbeat on the doppler so that has been good for my anxiety.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I hosted a bunco party at my house last night and my body is paying for all the prep I did over the past couple days. A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was having a lot of tailbone pain, and I think it may be an SI joint issue. I plan on taking it easy today and tomorrow to give my body a rest.
3. Questions for the group? None this week
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Feeling the baby move. We were on the fence for a long time about having a second child, and I didn't know whether I would ever feel that sensation again.
Hi! I guess I'm ready to officially join you guys. 1. How far along are you? 7w 1d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Looking forward to ultrasound on Monday and hoping all looks good! I'm beyond AMA (44) so fingers-crossed.
3. Questions for the group? Can we make this board more active? It's dead around here. Where else do you 'hang-out' online for pregnancy discussions?
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? So far its just but stressful and secrecy I'll be more excited once we see a heartbeat and get some testing done.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Having a lot of SI joint pain still. Chiropractor is helping though. My back is a huge mess. We have our maternity photo shoot tomorrow and the fall colors are perfect outside! Just hope the rain stays away.
3. Questions for the group? What stroller/car seat did you go with? We’re looking at the Chicco bravo travel system. Sometimes I feel terrified because I don’t know what I’m doing!
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Definitely the movement, haven’t had a whole lot of other enjoyable factors.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Had my 1 hour glucose screen yesterday so fingers crossed I pass it! Also got my rhogam shot and that stung more than I remember, but super important since DS did have a positive blood type.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Definitely movement, especially during the day. I enjoy it less when I’m trying to go to sleep and baby girl has a dance party lol.
madDawg228 Congratulations! I usually opted for a “vodka cranberry” with soda water in place of vodka, keeping the lime wedge. No one seemed to notice the carbonation. The sprite suggestion above is great too, I just had trouble with that much sweet.
chocolatelove I’m not but a good friend is having a scheduled C 12/23, their DD is nearly 4 and they’re having Christmas a few days off- if they’re little kids aren’t generally calendar savvy enough to know you’re fibbing.
doglove I’ve heard good things about that one. We have a Graco click connect type which I like, it was a hand me down so I didn’t really “choose” it but I think anything where the bucket clicks in and the assembly feels good and easy to move around is a winner. I’d make sure it fits well in your vehicle too- I bought a double second hand and have to remove the front tray table and sunshade to put it in my trunk (which remove easily, but until I figured that out was a bit of an OH SHIT moment)

doglove I’d say, pick the stroller you like and the car seat. No real reason to pigeon hole yourself into a “system” since most strollers will adapt to any infant seat.
We had the Graco click connect 40 for the infant seat and the. The Graco 4ever after kiddos turn 1. We also had an extra seat that was a Britax and I really don’t like it. It’s a pain to put in, it’s a pain to get the kids buckled (short crotch buckle). Least favorite.
For the stroller we got the City Mini for DD1 and a Bob. Once DD2 came along we added a City Select to the stable. If I did it over again I’d probably get a uppababy that can do two since it’s shorter.
3. Questions for the group? Can we make this board more active? It's dead around here. Where else do you 'hang-out' online for pregnancy discussions?
Congrats! I'll do my part on posting when I can!
When I got my first positive test I Google'd "What is my expected due date" and I found this site/app - What to Expect
I signed up for the app and I review the July 2020 board. I haven't posted there yet, but as this is my first pregnancy, I find it's reassuring to read that there are so many different types of "normal" pregnancies, and while I'm not experiencing a pregnancy like everyone, I am experiencing a similar pregnancy as others. I get daily update emails, and the app will tell me how the fetus is developing and has links to random pregnancy-related articles.

Yes! I have this app and have been to this board too.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Made it to 35 weeks. Im so glad to be far enough now that I can feel more comfortable if the baby needs to come early (my other two were 37 & 38 weeks due to low fluid). I get weekly fluid checks now & 3 weeks ago it was at 10 (out of 20, ive had to deliver before once it dips below 5), last week it went UP to 12. And this week... 15. Wtf I know I can vary, but I’ve never had it go up and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it that high for me. Lol so now I’m worried this kid is settling in. It’s really big already, and I don’t know if I can mentally handle going another 3-4 weeks. 😬Also I’m not starting to get nervous about delivery & doing the old “which is worse- continue being pregnant, or getting the baby out” debate.
3. Questions for the group?
4. What has been your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Ummmm hoping for a baby at the end? This hasn’t been super enjoyable- I’ve been a lot more anxious, uncomfortable, and feeling gross than the other two. This baby also moves SO much and ROUGH. It’s not enjoyable movement & feels so weird. Lol
