i’m trying to pull the trigger on Park tickets in mid January. But it doesn’t seem like the ticket dates are flexible and I’m not seeing trip insurance type of offer when buying the tickets. Everything I read says the tickets are nonrefundable. What if there’s a big snowstorm in NYC and I can’t get to Florida? Or what if one of my kids gets super sick with a winter bug and we can’t travel? What happens to the 7 day park tickets that I purchase and are supposed to start on Saturday, January 18?
And to further complicate the question, what if I buy the tickets from an authorized reseller?
Last year my DS came down with the flu the day before we were supposed to leave for a trip to DW. I called to cancel our trip and they fully refunded us (after talking with a manager). I didn't even have to ask. Amazing.
Disney has some kind of insurance for sure. I bought it via travel agent, but there were two main choices on her website. I just chose one of them and didn't do a ton of research. What was unclear to me was whether they ould cancel for a stomach bug or not (that's what I was worried about most! A puking kid when we were supposed to leave!) but I figured I'd take my chances. The policy did cover for trip delays due to weather, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks. I think based on your experience I’m going to buy them directly from Disney then rather than saving $100 from a reseller. Our January trip date is making me really nervous with winter weather and daycare bugs.

This kind of thing is why I always buy and book directly from Disney. In the fall when there are hurricanes, Disney will refund trips if there are hurricane-related travel problems. Resellers and third-party sites often won’t refund anything.

Yup, bought all 3 of our tickets today right on their site! DD had fun booking Fast Passes. Now if I could only get my Swan Hotel reservation to link.
