I was going to forgo an internal exam until after the home closing, but I said screw it yesterday because I was pissed they pushed it to Monday, my due date.
So I asked the m/w to do an internal exam.
Her comments were:
The baby's head is very low; however, she couldn't get to my cervix to see if I was dilated. She mentioned I was probably 50% effaced. She said the posterior cervix should move forward as the baby descends and since her head is so low things should move quickly once they get going.
This could all mean nothing of course, I don't know. But what concerns me is this "posterior cervix." Someone at book club last night, said, oh I had a posterior cervix and had a c-section.
You have to remember that correlation does not imply causation. She may have had a c-section because of some comepletely other reason (and she doesn't remember, didn't know, etc.) Just because she has a PC and was sectioned, doesn't mean that it necessarily follows. BREATHE. And focus on getting her out the "old-fashioned" way.
And, um, I guess I am sending you cervix vibes or something.
I don't know what posterior cervix means but I do know that you are going to get your closing and roof taken care of and during that time Sam and your cervix are going to do exactly what they need to do, and after your business is taken care of she will be ready. That I know. In the meantime just keep swimming

Yup, yup, and yup.
I'll be swimming until the day I give birth. Oh, that's my mortgage broker on the phone.
I had a posterior cervix and had a vaginal delivery.
Love you.
Anything else you can tell me about this.
Not much more than what your midwife said. The posterior cervix just moved forward with the pressure of the baby as she was descending. She was head down for a while, but it took her a while to actually drop down to make a difference. It was not an issue at all during the delivery and I delivered fine. They never really were able to give me a good measurement of effacement because of it, so crossing fingers for you that you will be fine.
